A refrigerator shelf is provided that includes a carrier plate and overflow protection. The carrier plate has a top side with a middle region for standing containers, with the overflow protection arranged around the middle region. The overflow protection includes, in a first portion, a hydrophobic layer on the carrier plate and, in a second portion which adjoins the first portion, a frame element.

A method for producing a glass or glass ceramic composite material with a metallic decorative appearance is provided. The method includes: applying a layer onto a glass or glass ceramic substrate, the layer comprising a sol-gel and/or a polysiloxane; patterning the layer; and applying a metallic-looking layer onto the patterned layer.

The window for a hot chamber sealed off from the surroundings includes a multi-pane module. There is now provided a stove for cooking food and like appliances with a door having a window and a temperature indicating device. The temperature indicating device can be on a glass door of a heating and/or cooling device, whereby a color change indicates the temperature, and whereby an indicator is provided between two plates of the glass door which consists of two or more plates. The indicator is configured to change color upon the interior temperature of the appliance reaching a predetermined temperature.
