An injection device for delivering a dose of medicament from a syringe comprises a housing with a forward body and rearward body, the forward and rearward bodies being axially moveably interconnected. A drive mechanism is arranged, in use, to deliver a dose from the syringe, the drive mechanism being activated by a trigger. The injection device further comprises an interlock having a locked position in which activation of the drive mechanism by the trigger is prevented and an unlocked position in which the drive mechanism may be activated. The interlock arrangement is moved to the unlocked position by relative axial movement of the forward and rearward body caused by the injection device being urged against an injection site. The injection device further comprises an interlock hold arrangement associated with a forward facing skin abutment surface of the injection device. The interlock hold arrangement is configured to help maintain the alignment of the rearward and forward body when the interlock is in the unlocked position and the forward facing skin abutment surface is in contact with an injection site.

Injection devices

Disclosed is an auto-injection apparatus for receiving a syringe, including: an outer casing enclosing a drive assembly and a syringe carrier configured to hold a barrel of the syringe, the syringe carrier being forward of the drive assembly and having stowed and delivery positions; an interlock extending between the syringe carrier and a syringe carrier housing at least partially surrounding the syringe carrier, the interlock preventing forward motion of the syringe carrier under the influence of an insertion actuator whilst in the stowed position. The drive assembly includes the insertion actuator for inserting a needle of the syringe into an injection site and a delivery actuator for driving a plunger into a barrel of the syringe which contains a substance for injection. The syringe carrier includes an interlock release mechanism which is configured to release the interlock such that the insertion actuator drives the syringe carrier forward.

Injection apparatus

An injection device is disclosed comprising a plunger for expressing medicament from a syringe and a delivery mechanism arranged in use to provide a forward biasing force to urge the plunger from a first rearward position to a second forward position to express a dose from the syringe. A latch arrangement is provided that releasably holds the plunger against the force of the delivery mechanism. The latch arrangement comprising at least two resilient segments which define opposing sections of an aperture within which a rearward end of the plunger is retained in the rearward position. A trigger is provided for releasing the plunger in use, the trigger being arranged to outwardly deflect at least one of the resilient segments such that the aperture is expanded to release the rearward end of the plunger. A method of manufacturing the injection device is also enclosed.

Injection device with safe trigger function

The invention relates to an injection device comprising an elongate housing and a cap removably mounted over a forward end of the housing. The cap comprising at least one slot extending forwardly from its rear edge; the at least one slot being configured to engage with an outwardly projecting protrusion on an outer surface of the housing when the cap is mounted on the housing. A rearward portion of the cap includes rearwardly extending engagement features provided on each side of the at least one slot, the engagement features being configured to locate within a cavity in the housing when the cap is mounted on the housing. The cavity is provided with corresponding surfaces which align with the cap engagement features so as to hold the outwardly projecting protrusion within the cut-out.

An autoinjector device is disclosed which comprises a body portion and a syringe carrier, for supporting a syringe with a needle at its forward end. The syringe carrier is moveably mounted within the housing such that forward movement relative to the housing may extend the needle from a forward end of the body. The syringe carrier has a latch element arranged to cooperate with a corresponding retention feature of the body portion to releasably hold the syringe carrier in a rearward position within the body potion. A delivery mechanism is arranged to forwardly displace the syringe carrier relative to the housing and to deliver a dose of medicament from the syringe. A shroud assembly is provided at a forward end of the device. The shroud further comprises a locking arrangement which blocks releasing movement of the latch element from the retention feature when the shroud is in a first, forward position and is unlocked when the shroud is in a second, rearward position.

Injection device with syringe carrier lock

The invention provides an injection device for delivering a dose of medicament from a syringe. The injection device comprises a housing (), a plunger () moveably mounted within the housing, an actuation mechanism () arranged to provide a forward biasing force to urge the plunger forward in use to express a dose of medicament and a trigger mechanism () arranged to (directly or indirectly) releaseably hold the plunger against the force of the actuation mechanism. The injection device further comprises a plunger velocity regulator comprising a cam surface () associated with one of the housing or the plunger, and a cam member () associated with the other of the plunger or the housing and arranged to engage the cam surface during actuation movement of the plunger such that axial movement of the plunger relative to the housing causes relative rotational movement of the cam member and limits the forward velocity of the plunger movement.

Automatic injection device with plunger velocity regulator

An injection device for the delivery of medicament has an indicator for providing an activation indication. The device includes a housing; a plunger slidably mounted within the housing; an actuation mechanism configured, in use, to move the plunger forward relative to a syringe so as to express medicament from the syringe. The device also includes an indicator element responsive to the forward movement of the plunger and configured to provide an audible and/or tactile and/or visual indication when the plunger reaches or approaches its forward position. The plunger includes an elongate shaft formed of at least two telescopic sections. The actuation mechanism acts on the plunger, in use, to expand the telescopic sections and to sequentially move each of the telescopic sections forwardly within the housing. The indicator element is arranged to be responsive to the forward movement of the trailing telescopic section.
