A method for operating a brake system. A brake request signal characterizing a brake request is generated by actuating a positioner system of an actuating circuit, and a setpoint brake pressure required in an active circuit is ascertained based on the brake request signal. An actual brake pressure is set in the active circuit according to the setpoint brake pressure using a pressure generation device by moving a displacement piston using an electric motor to actuate a wheel brake coupled with the active circuit. Under the condition that the brake request signal is constant over a predefined period of time, a pressure modulation is carried out, which includes setting the actual brake pressure in the active circuit to a value that is greater than the setpoint brake pressure, and lowering the actual brake pressure by moving the displacement piston using the electric motor until the setpoint brake pressure is reached.

A brushless electrical machine, in particular, a brushless d.c. motor, having a housing, at least one rotor, which is positioned on a shaft rotationally mounted in the housing, and a stator attached to the housing; the rotor being assigned a rotor position detection device, which operates contactlessly and includes a multipole magnetic ring positioned on the shaft in a rotatably fixed manner and at least one sensor, which is sensitive to magnetic fields and is attached to the housing radially with respect to the outer circumference of the magnetic ring. The number of pole pairs of the rotor and the number of pole pairs of the magnetic ring are coprime.

The disclosure relates to a control device and a corresponding method for operating an electromechanical brake booster of a brake system of a vehicle, comprising an electronics unit that defines a target variable with respect to a target rotational speed of a motor of the electromechanical brake booster, taking into account a brake input signal with respect to a braking request, and that sends at least one control signal to the motor. The electronics unit defines a maximum target variable with respect to a maximum target rotational speed of the motor, taking into account a current intensity of a motor current of the motor and a current angle of rotation of a rotor of the motor, and defines the target variable with respect to the target rotational speed of the motor of the electromechanical brake booster to be at the most equal to the defined maximum target variable.
