Use of reactive amines for the preparation for polyurethane foams

This invention relates to monoalkyl phosphoric esters, dialkyl phosphoric esters, and, in small amounts, trialkyl phosphoric esters or salts thereof, which are preferably based on &bgr;-branched fatty alcohols, particularly Guerbet alcohol, which are effective in lowering the surface tension of both polar and also nonpolar liquids, and which have high stability, even at elevated temperatures, and low sensitivity to electrolytes and acids. The invention further relates to the use of such mixtures as emulsifiers in cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations, and to the resulting products.

The present invention relates to water-insoluble cationized solids obtained by treating solids with cationic homopolymers and/or copolymers comprising allylic and/or vinylic double bonds, where cationization is carried out using nitrogen-containing cationic polymers and/or copolymers which comprise from 0.5 to 100 mol-%, preferably from 5 to 20 mol-%, of said double bonds, based on nitrogen equivalents. The invention relates in particular to cationized solids obtained by cationization with allylated and/or vinylated derivatives of amino-containing polymers and/or copolymers. The invention also embraces the preparation of cationized solids by free-radical crosslinking of the abovementioned cationic polymers and/or copolymers in the presence of solids. The products obtained are in general at least 95% insoluble in water. They are obtained by cationizing mineral materials and, preferably, cellulose and are used preferably as retention aids and/or fixing agents in papermaking.

Substantially water-insoluble cationized solids, and their preparation and use

Ester quats of the formula (1) below are described: ##STR1## where RCO is an aliphatic acyl radical having 6 to 22 carbon atoms, R.sup.1 is a methyl radical, R.sup.2 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl radical, R.sup.3 is a C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 -alkyl radical and X.sup.- is a halogen anion. They are prepared by quaternizing the corresponding carboxylic acid ethanolamine ester compound with a methyl halide in the absence or presence of solvents. The ester quats of the invention have a low melting point. Furthermore, even in high concentration they are highly water soluble and, on account of their preparation, are obtained in high purity and free from toxic contents. These ester quats can be used in many ways and are suitable, for example, for preparing solid or aqueous formulations having a high surfactant effect.

The invention relates to mixtures of long-chain alkyl phosphates of the formula ##STR1## in which R is a mixture of C.sub.12 -C.sub.22, preferably C.sub.14 -C.sub.20, straight-chain alkyl radicals and C.sub.12 -C.sub.22, preferably C.sub.14 -C.sub.20, .beta.-branched alkyl radicals, and X and Y are identical or different and are hydrogen, alkali metal or an equivalent of an alkaline earth metal, ammonium, mono-, di- or tri-alkylammonium or an organic base, or X and/or Y are as defined under R. These esters are suitable as emulsifiers, in particular for oil-in-water emulsions of a cosmetic pharmaceutical nature.

Mixtures of long-chain alkyl phosphates

Novel water-soluble homo- or copolymers are described which comprise 1,1-diallyl-3,4-dimethylenepyrrolidinium cations in the polymer and can additionally include 1,1-dialkyl-3,4-dimethylenepyrrolidinium cations. The polymers are prepared by first polymerizing a diallylammonium salt of the formula [(CH.sub.2 .dbd.CH--CH.sub.2).sub.2 NH.sub.2 ].sup.+ X.sup.- in which X.sup.- is the anion of any Bronstedt acid and, preferably, a halide, alone or together with an unsaturated comonomer, and reacting the resulting polymer or copolymer with a base and an allyl halide. The novel polymers are preferably used for treating textiles.
