A lighting device includes at least on LED light source, ca collimator, a first lenslet array of lenslets tessellated in an irregular pattern, and a second array of lenslets tessellated in the same irregular pattern as the first array of lenslets, such that each of the lenslets in the first array is aligned with a corresponding one of the lenslets in the second array. The first array further includes a plurality of transmissive planar facets covering an intersection between lenslet.

A lighting device comprises a light source defining a central axis and comprising at least two mutually independently operable lighting elements. The lighting device further comprises a rotatable deflective member rotatably mounted about said axis, and a fixed deflective member fixedly mounted on said axis and comprising at least two mutually differently deflective portions which each are associated with a respective lighting element. The lighting device of the invention enables various operation modes, like light beam rotation can rotate, jumping of the light beam from one location to another by a sequence of switching on and off one or more of the at least two lighting elements, or in that it can be dimmed or boosted, for example dimmable in steps by a sequence of one by one switching off the lighting elements.

Lighting device and lighting system

The invention provides a collimator comprising a Fresnel lens comprising a refractive lens portion and a toothed total internal reflection portion. A light blocking element is at least between the lens portion and the light source. A portion of a light source output is blocked from reaching at least one region of the inner lens portion. At some or all parts of the lens portion, light does not reach those parts from the full area of the light source. This partial light blocking means the whole shape of the light source is not projected onto all of the lens portion, and the halo effect is reduced or eliminated.

Collimator and a lighting unit

Disclosed is a lighting device () for generating a dynamically adjustable spotlight without moving parts. The lighting device comprises a planar array of individually addressable sets of light sources (), each set comprising at least one light source, each of said light sources being arranged to produce a luminous distribution; a controller () arranged to individually address said sets of light sources; and an optical system () comprising a plurality of refractive lenses () common to the individually addressable light sources and arranged to shape the luminous distribution of each set of light sources into a spotlight () and project said spotlight in an angular direction that is a function of a position of said set in the array.

Adjustable spot light position generation

An optical output device comprises a plate having at least one surface formed as an array of tessellated lenses. The tessellated lenses comprise at least first and second regions of regular hexagonal lens tessellation, wherein the first and second regions are slanted with respect to each other. By removing full periodicity in this way, but maintaining localized periodicity, visible non-uniformities are reduced in both color and intensity. The optical output device does not need to be illuminated uniformly to generate an output without visible intensity or color edges.

Optical output device and design method

A collimator () for a color over position light source () is provided. The collimator () comprises a focal point (F), an optical axis (OA) containing the focal point (F), an imaging element () arranged around or on the optical axis (OA) and several light spreading elements () ranged around the optical axis (OA) to receive at least one image from the imaging element (). The light spreading elements () have different light beam widening characteristics, the light beam widening characteristics of each light spreading element () of said light spreading elements () depending on the position of the light spreading element () relative to the focal point (F). The light spreading elements () are adapted to spread light striking the light spreading elements () in a first plane (M) including the optical axis (OA). A method for collimating light from a color over position light source () is also provided.

Color correcting collimation of light from a color over position light source

A solid state light emitter lighting assembly () and a luminaire are provided. The solid state light emitter assembly comprises a light exit window (), a reflector (&#x2033;), a light guide (&#x2033;) and a solid state light emitter (). The reflector reflect light towards the light exit window and has at least one edge (&#x2033;) bending towards the light exit window. The light guide receives light at a first end () and emits at a second end (&#x2033;) the guided light towards the reflector. The first end is arranged at a first side of the at least one edge. The first side is away from a reflecting surface () of the reflector. The solid state light emitter is also at the first side and emits light towards the first end of the light guide. A portion of the light that is reflected by the reflector is transmitted through the light guide through side surfaces of the light guide.

Solid state light emitter lighting assembly and a luminaire

The present disclosure relates to a color tunable lighting device comprising at least one light source (), a symmetry axis () and an envelope (). The at least one light source () is disposed on a base () extending within a plane and the envelope () is disposed at least above the base () and defines a cavity () extending along the symmetry axis (). The at least one light source () is arranged at a distance X from the symmetry axis () along a radial direction relative to the symmetry axis. The plane is arranged to intersect the symmetry axis (). The distance X may be at least 50% of a total distance between the symmetry axis () and an edge of the envelope (), or a projection of the edge of the envelope () on the plane in which the base () extends, as seen along the radial direction. A curvature of the envelope () is monotonically increasing with an increasing distance from the base ().

Lighting device for a light source

A lighting device is provided that allows a reduced color separation. The lighting device is configured to emit light along an output direction. The lighting device comprises a base, two or more light emitting diode, LED, chips and a light transmissive dielectric material. The two or more LED chips are asymmetrically distributed on the base and are configured to emit light in the output direction. The light transmissive dielectric material may be embedding the two or more chips and includes luminescent material. A first chip of the one or more LED chips is arranged so that one corner of the first chip coincides, or at least closely, coincides with a central axis of the lighting device.

Optical system for collimation of light

An optical device that allows the usage of an extended light source in a more compact device is provided. The optical device may be configured to collimate light of a light source () along an optical direction. The optical device () may comprise a source surface (), a forward surface (), a lens body () and a peripheral element (). The source surface is arranged to receive light and may comprise a central portion () and a Fresnel portion (). The Fresnel portion includes at least one tooth () for deflecting light. The forward surface is arranged to output, along the optical direction, at least the deflected light into a collimated light. The source surface and the forward surface delimit the lens body. The peripheral element may be arranged to reflect light internally reflected at the forward surface by total inner reflection towards the optical direction to contribute to the collimated light.

Optical beam shaping device and spot light using the same

The invention provides various designs for enabling a non-circular area of collimated light output or to enable tessellation of collimators. In a first aspect, a collimator arrangement comprises a plurality of collimators, each having a circular general outer shape with one or more indentation into the circular general outer shape, wherein each indentation comprises a pair of edges which meet at an internal angle and each indentation defines a pair of external angles where the cut-out meets the general outer shape. The collimators are tessellated with each internal angle adjacent one of the external angles of an adjacent collimator. In another aspect, a collimating optical structure comprises a first section comprising one or more portions of a first collimator lens design with a first diameter and a second section comprising one or more portions of a second collimator lens design with a larger, second diameter. The portions comprise sectors which together form an annular shape around the optical axis with non-constant radius from the optical axis.

Collimator and collimator arrangement

An optical device () is disclosed, comprising a collimator () and a first lenslet array () and a second lenslet array (). The first lenslet array and the second lenslet array are provided with the same tessellation pattern, aligned with each other and arranged such that a projection () of a light source () is focused on the second lenslet array, which is configured to emit non-focused light. At least some of the lenslets of the second array are formed such that a ratio of their sagittal and meridional dimensions varies at least along the meridional direction (M) of the second lenslet array, based on the varying shape of the projection of the light source as seen by said lenslets, so as to achieve an improved mixing, intensity and uniformity of light emitted from the optical device.
