A razor cartridge comprising a housing; a guard located at the front of the housing; a cap located at the rear of the housing; two or more blades disposed in the housing between the guard and the cap; a skin contact element extending across the housing between two of said blades; and a plurality of projections extending from a base of said skin contact element, each having a skin contacting surface, the projections being spaced along the length of the skin contact element, wherein there is a pitch of up to 2 mm between adjacent projections and the skin contacting surface has a width extending for up to 35% of the pitch.

A shaving razor has a housing joined to a handle, one or more blades mounted in the housing and a light source. The light source projects a defined image indicating the exact location of a blade edge on the skin of a user enabling the user to properly align the blade edge on the skin during shaving.

A shaving apparatus comprising a first shaving unit, including a first outer cutter () and a first undercutter () which cooperate together, a skin agitation member (), a housing and a drive source () mounted in the housing. A safety razor blade unit has cap structure with upstanding fin elements directed perpendicular to the blade edges to define a cap surface featuring low frictional resistance characteristics during shaving. The fin elements are spaced at a pitch distance of 0.3 to 0.7 millimeter, are 0.3 to 1.0 millimeter in height and are substantially triangular in cross-section with an aspect ratio of 2:1 to 4:1.

A razor head or cartridge is provided on its skin engaging surfaces, e.g. caps and/or guard surfaces with an array of closely spaced projections which, in use, produce a pleasant tactile sensation tending to reduce shaving discomfort. The projections may be formed by closely packed flexible filaments, or by moulded fins or pillars.
