A method for conditioning a hard gelatin capsule () having any moisture content to a dry and non-brittle state when packed for at least one week in a cavity () of a blister base () closed by a lid film () comprising an aluminium foil, wherein the hard gelatin capsule () is a hard starch capsule manufactured from collagen and the hard gelatin capsule () contains pharmaceuticals and wherein the dry state of the hard gelatin capsule () means a relative humidity of less than 50% at room temperature and the non-brittle state means that the hard gelatin capsule () does not break when pressed out of the cavity () of the blister base () through the lid film (). The lid film () and/or the blister base () comprise/s a moisture-regulating buffer layer () with a predefined humidity. The moisture-regulating buffer layer () consists of a polymer or polymer mixture containing 1 to 60 wt. % of an absorber material which is either a hygroscopic salt, a silica gel or a zeolite or a mixture of any of said absorber materials, wherein the absorber material buffers the humidity in the space within the cavity () surrounding the hard gelatin capsule () to lie in a range between 10 and 50% r.h.

Process for the conditioned packaging of hard gelatin capsules

The present invention is related to a double-shell blister packaging () for medicinal contents comprising one or more cavityies of a similar shape to the medicinal content, said double-shell packaging () being the assembly of a first and second mutilayer structures sealed to each other, each multilayer structure comprising a seal layer (), one or more aluminium layers () with a thickness of at least 20 &#x3bc;m, preferably 30 &#x3bc;m, and two or more support layers (), wherein said two or more support layers () have a tensile strength at break in machine and transversal direction of 200 N/mmor more, and an elongation at break of 50% or more, preferably 70% or more, measured according to EN ISO 527-3, each of said multilayer structures comprising cavities which, arranged face to face, enclose in use said medicinal content.

Gas and light proof, double-shell blister packs for medicinal contents

A cover foil as a push-through foil for a blister pack for packaging moisture-sensitive products has an aluminum foil as the barrier layer against the penetration of water vapor and gases and a sealing layer for sealing against a blister base part. A plastics material layer containing moisture-adsorbing drying agent is arranged on the side of the aluminum foil provided with the sealing layer.
