A lamp comprising electric contact members () at the outside of the lamp for making contact with corresponding electric contact elements () in a lamp holder surrounding the lamp. The light radiation of the lamp is emitted from the front side () of the lamp, which front side () is substantially located in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the lamp. The contact members () are located near the circumferential edge of said front side of the lamp.

A lighting fixture comprising a reflectorand a double-ended elongate lamp, the reflector body comprising a casing () with a specular cavity having an apex and an aperture rim, wherein the lamp end portions (') of the double-ended lamp are enclosed in slots (&#x2032;) located in the casing at opposite sides of the aperture rim and substantially flush with the aperture rim, is extremely flat and slim and therefore useful as a recessed down-light in a shelf, a ceiling, or a wall panel.

A lamp includes an envelope of a vitreous composition, having a pinched part at least one end to form a seal isolating an interior of the envelope from the environment of the envelope, and an arrangement for conducting electrical current to the interior of the envelope, having a section embedded in one of the pinched parts of the envelope and a section external to the envelope. At least part of embedded section of the arrangement for conducting electrical current is at least partly surrounded by a composition including at least one of phosphorus in a non-volatile form and an acid thereof.

Lamp and method of manufacturing a lamp

A halogen lamp includes a mains base and a converter operably connected to the mains base. The converter has a lamp socket, a toroid transformer, and a heat sink disposed within a center opening of the toroid transformer. A lamp is removably disposed in the lamp socket. The converter has a power density between 0.75 and 3.75 Watts/cm3. In an alternate embodiment, the halogen lamp includes a low voltage, low pressure IRC lamp operably connected to the converter.
