The present application relates to an apparatus which comprises a wireless power transfer system. This system comprises features which allow it to transfer more power wirelessly at extended distances than other systems operating in the same frequency range. The system possesses heat dissipation features; these features allow it to operate effectively in elevated-temperature environments, and to transfer power at higher levels and/or greater distances than a typical power-transfer system. The system also might include design features to withstand mechanical shocks, stresses, and impacts for use in a rugged environment. The system can also comprise adaptations to reduce electromagnetic interference, and can comprise specially shaped components with magnetic/ferrimagnetic properties that enhance performance. Other potential features include power conditioning by combining, within one circuit or one board, multiple elements that protect against excessive current, over-voltage, and/or reverse voltage.

Wireless power transfer system with extended wireless charging range

A medical fluid management assembly includes a pneumatic manifold, a pump engine, a valve engine, and a fluid manifold. The pneumatic manifold includes a plurality of pneumatic passageways and a plurality of pneumatic connectors. The pump engine includes a pump chamber and the valve engine includes a valve chamber. Each of the pump engine and valve engine includes a pneumatic connector mated sealingly and releaseably with one of the pneumatic connectors of the pneumatic manifold. Additionally, each of the pump engine and valve engine includes a fluid connector. The fluid manifold includes a plurality of fluid pathways and a plurality of fluid connectors mated sealingly and releaseably with the fluid connectors of the pump engine and the valve engine.

Modular medical fluid management assemblies, machines and methods

Various embodiments of a wireless connector system are described. The system has a transmitter module and a receiver module that are configured to wirelessly transmit electrical energy and/or data via near field magnetic coupling. The wireless connector system is designed to increase the amount of wirelessly transmitted electrical power over a greater separation distance. The system is configured with various sensing circuits that alert the system to the presence of the receiver module to begin transfer of electrical power as well as undesirable objects and increased temperature that could interfere with the operation of the system. The wireless connector system is a relatively small footprint that is designed to be surface mounted.

Wireless connector system

A PCB for wireless power transfer includes an antenna and the antenna includes a coil. A method for manufacturing the PCB includes providing a prefabricated PCB, the prefabricated PCB including a PCB design and a first area and providing a first sheet of a conductive metal for the first area. The method includes applying an etch resistant coating on a coil area within the first area and laser cutting the first sheet within the coil area, based on a laser cutting path for a first plurality of turns for a first layer of the coil, the first geometry configured wireless power transfer. The method further includes substantially exposing the first sheet to an etching solution, the etching solution substantially removing first portions of the conductive metal from the substrate to define, at least, first turn gaps between at least two of the first plurality of turns.

Systems and methods for utilizing laser cutting and chemical etching in manufacturing wireless power antennas

A surface mountable housing for a power transmitter for wireless power transfer includes a connector system configured for use to mount, at least, a transmitter antenna to an underside of a structural surface, such that the transmitter antenna is configured to couple with a receiver antenna of a power receiver when the receiver antenna is proximate to a top side of the structural surface. The surface mountable housing further includes a heat sink, the heat sink configured to rest, at least in part, below the transmitter antenna, when the power transmitter is connected to the structural surface, and configured to direct heat generated by the power transmitter away from the structural surface, and an antenna housing, the antenna housing substantially surrounding a side wall of the transmitter antenna, the antenna housing connected to the heat sink and positioned between the heat sink and the structural surface.

Surface mountable wireless power transmitter for transmission at extended range

Various embodiments of inductor coils, antennas, and transmission bases configured for wireless electrical energy transmission are provided. These embodiments are configured to wirelessly transmit or receive electrical energy or data via near field magnetic coupling. The embodiments of inductor coils comprise a figure eight configuration that improve efficiency of wireless transmission efficiency. The embodiments of the transmission base are configured with at least one transmitting antenna and a transmitting electrical circuit positioned within the transmission base. The transmission base is configured so that at least one electronic device can be wirelessly electrically charged or powered by positioning the at least one device in contact with or adjacent to the transmission base.

Inductor coil structures to influence wireless transmission performance

A medical fluid management assembly includes a pneumatic manifold, a pump and valve engine, and a fluid manifold. The pump and valve engine includes a plurality of valve chambers, at least one pump chamber, and a plurality of pneumatic connectors mated sealingly and releasably with the pneumatic connectors of the pneumatic manifold. The pump and valve engine also includes a plurality of fluid connectors. The fluid manifold includes a plurality of fluid pathways and a plurality of fluid connectors mated sealingly and releasably with the fluid connectors of the pump and valve engine.

A method for manufacturing an antenna for a wireless power transfer system includes providing a first sheet of a conductive metal, the first sheet defining a first area for a coil of the antenna. The method includes applying an etch resistant coating on a coil area within the first area and laser cutting the first sheet within the coil area, based on a laser cutting path defining a first geometry for a first plurality of turns for a first layer of the coil, the first geometry configured for one or more of transmission of wireless power signals, receipt of wireless power signals, and combinations thereof. The method further includes substantially exposing the first sheet to an etching solution, the etching solution substantially removing first portions of the conductive metal from the substrate to define, at least, first turn gaps between at least two of the first plurality of turns.

A power transmitter includes a transmitter antenna includes at least one coil configured to transmit the power signal to the power receiver, the at least one coil and a shielding comprising a ferrite core and defining a cavity, the cavity configured such that the ferrite core substantially surrounds all but the top face of the at least one coil. The power transmitter includes a housing configured for housing, at least, the transmitter antenna. The housing defines an airflow opening configured to provide an airflow to a first airflow channel and to a second airflow channel. The first and second airflow channels configured to provide the airflow to one or more of a top face of a mobile device thereon and a bottom face of the mobile device.
