A system, method, and circuit for determining signals. A bridge output is received from a Wheatstone bridge sensing a slow signal and a fast signal. A slow output associated with the slow signal and a fast output associated with the fast signal are determined from the bridge output utilizing a microcontroller. The microcontroller generates the offset signal in response to the slow output. Other systems, methods, and circuits are disclosed.

Method for multiplexing wheatstone bridge measurements

An example method for determining borehole acoustics using an electromagnetic sensing apparatus may include positioning a downhole tool within a borehole disposed in a formation. The downhole tool may comprise at least one acoustic source and at least one electromagnetic (EM) sensor. An acoustic wave may be emitted from the at least one acoustic source. The acoustic wave may generate an electrical signal when an EM field is present within the borehole. The electrical signal may be measured with the at least one EM sensor. At least one downhole characteristic may be determined based, at least in part, on the measured electrical signal.

Electromagnetic sensing apparatus for borehole acoustics

Certain aspects are directed to capturing data regarding physical states associated with a perforating string. In one aspect, a sensing tool is provided. The sensing tool includes at least one sensor and a processor positioned in an isolated chamber of the sensing tool. The processor samples data from the sensor at a first sampling rate associated with the deployment of a perforating string. The data is associated with at least one parameter with respect to the perforating string. The processor detects a trigger condition associated with a perforation operation of the perforating string. The processor switches to a second sampling rate in response to detecting the trigger condition. The second sampling rate is greater than the first sampling rate and is associated with the perforation operation. The processor samples data at the second sampling rate for a period of time in which the perforation operation is at least partially performed.

Method and systems for capturing data for physical states associated with perforating string

A method and logging tool for evaluating leakage within a wellbore. In an embodiment, a percussive hammer assembly is selectively actuated to strike the interior wall of a casing, thereby propagating a sound wave along the casing. An array of acoustic detectors are selectively recorded during short time windows based on sound propagation times from the percussive hammer assembly to each acoustic detector, thereby avoiding the need to continuously sample acoustic detectors and collecting voluminous data. A self-tuning mode may be provided to determine sound propagation times.

System and method for leak detection

A fixture for receiving a tool that facilitates communication between a tool and other equipment. The fixture includes a shroud sized to at least partially cover a circumference of a housing of the tool, and one or more current transformers or sensors which are coupled to the shroud. Each current transformer can inductively receive or inject, through the housing, a current from or into electronics contained within the housing of the tool. The induced current can be part of the communication between the tool and the equipment. The communication can be a data communication between the tool and the equipment, a transfer of electrical power from the equipment to the tool, or both. The tool can be a closed cavity without electrical or magnetic interfaces.

Fixture and tool for use in facilitating communication between tool and equipment

A downhole well tool with temperature sensitive components and one or more endo thermic cooling devices associated with the components. The cooling devices comprise at least two reactants isolated by a separator that is actuated to mix the reactants upon the components experiencing a temperature above a set limit.

Endothermic heat sink for downhole tools

An example method for attaching a ball grid array chip to a circuit board includes providing an adapter for attaching a chip with a plurality of solder balls to a circuit board, the adapter having an adapter substrate made from a material having substantially the same coefficient of thermal expansion as the substrate used in the chip and having at least one electrical contact site on a mounting surface of the adapter substrate for engaging a solder ball on the ball grid array chip and a plurality of lead wires extending from each side of the adapter substrate. At least one of the lead wires is electrically connected to at least one electrical contact site on the adapter substrate.
