An AC transmission system for a power transmission to an offshore plant. The AC transmission system includes an onshore power station which transmits an electric power, an offshore plant which receives the electric power, a submarine cable which connects the onshore power station to the offshore plant, and at least one pipeline with an electrical heating system which is connected to the onshore power station through the submarine cable.

Subsea heating assembly, comprising a component interface cable () in association with a subsea component (') to be heated. The component interface cable receives power from an electric power source. The power source comprises an induction coupler () with core rings which surround an alternating current carrying source cable (), and a winding cable () wound around the core ring The winding cable connects to the component interface cable. The induction coupler comprises an upper section () with first core parts () and a lower section () with second core parts (). The winding cable is arranged in the upper section. The first core parts are aligned with second core parts when the upper section is landed on the lower section. The upper section is removable from the lower section.

Subsea heating assembly and method of heating a subsea component

A subsea direct electrical heating assembly adapted to heat a hydrocarbon conducting steel pipeline () arranged subsea. The assembly comprises a direct electrical heating cable () extending along and being connected to the steel pipeline () and a power transmission cable () receiving electric power from a power supply () which is arranged onshore or at surface offshore, and which feeds the direct electrical heating cable (). The subsea direct electrical heating assembly comprises a power conditioning arrangement () arranged at a subsea location, in a position between the power transmission cable () and the direct electrical heating cable (). The power transmission cable () extends from the offshore or onshore power supply () and down to the power conditioning arrangement ().

Long step out direct electric heating assembly

The invention provides a subsea pressure boosting system feasible for operation at subsea step out lengths above 40 km and by control merely from a dry topside or onshore location. The system is distinctive in that it comprises: at least one subsea power step out cable, arranged from a near end at a dry location onshore or topsides to one or more subsea loads such as subsea pumps or subsea compressors at a far end, at the near end at least one source for electric power is connected and the cable is dimensioned for operation at a frequency different from the operation frequency of the connected subsea loads in order to handle the Ferranti effect and electric losses, and at least one passive electric frequency transformer, operatively connected between the subsea step out cable far end and the subsea loads, said transformer is located in a pressure vessel and transforms the operation frequency of the subsea step out cable to a frequency feasible for operation of the connected loads.

Stable subsea electric power transmission to run subsea high speed motors

The inventions relates to a system for conditioning of power from a turbine, the turbine comprising at least one turbine blade () connected to a rotating hub (), the rotating hub () is arranged to drive a generator (). The generator is a multi pole synchronous generator () connected via a plurality of galvanic isolated three-phase cables () to a multi level frequency converter (), the generator () also being arranged to feed current to the frequency converter () through the three-phase cables (). The multi level frequency converter () is constituted by a plurality of elements arranged in columns and coupled in cascading order to add inverted voltage.
