A power conveying system for use with a header of an agricultural harvester, the header having a first structural member and a second structural member being pivotally coupled to the first structural member about an axis. The power conveying system including a driving pulley, a driven pulley, an idler pulley, a flexible link and a cantilevered member. The driving pulley is coupled to the first structural member, and the driven pulley is coupled to the second structural member. The flexible link conveys power from the driving pulley to the driven pulley, and is in contact with the idler pulley. The cantilevered member is connected to the second structural member, and extends beyond the axis, where the cantilevered member is movably coupled to the idler pulley.

Agricultural harvester drive line

A drive mechanism for utility machinery is disclosed. The mechanism includes a driver wheel and a driven wheel that are coupled by means of an endless flexible band trained around outer rims of the driver and driven wheels. The driver wheel is adapted to transmit drive to the driven wheel in a forward direction F along a loaded side of the band. The mechanism further comprises an idler wheel that runs on an outer side of the band and applies an inwardly directed tensioning force to the band on a run of the band that is unloaded when forward drive is being transmitted. A reverse driver is positioned between the idler wheel and the driven wheel on an inner portion of the side of the band that is unloaded during forward drive. The reverse driver is adapted to selectively provide a reverse drive to the band.

Utility machinery and associated reversible feeder mechanisms

A pneumatic system for automatically controlling the height of a crop harvesting header on a combine is disclosed wherein the pneumatic system includes a cylinder which receives compressed air through pneumatic directional valves mounted on the crop harvesting header and actuated through ground sensors positioned under the header. The flow of compressed air from the directional valves operates a pneumatic cylinder, which in turn drives a hydraulic valve controlling the hydraulic header lift mechanism to move the header relative to the frame of the combine to maintain the relative position of the header to the ground. The pneumatic cylinder is also actuated to effect a raising of the crop harvesting header by another pneumatic directional valve connected to a control lever for shifting the primary drive of the combine to a reverse direction, thereby automatically raising the header when the combine is moved in a reverse direction.
