Method for the bidirectional transmission of data between one or more textile machines () producing cross-wound bobbins and/or one or more same-level and/or higher level control systems with a device () for transmitting data to a transport medium, which is used for the transporting of data located on the transport medium, the transport medium being in operative connection with the textile machine () producing cross-wound bobbins to transmit data via the device (). According to the invention, a memory, a hard disc, a magnetic tape, a writable compact disc (CD), a writable digital versatile disc (DVD), a magneto-optical disc (MO disc), a minidisc (MD) or a digital memory card provided in a mobile telephone or a palm-top computer (personal digital assistant) are used as the transporting medium and the device () is integrated in an exchangeable manner in the textile machine ().

Method for the bidirectional transmission of data between one or more textile machines

Housing () for an optical measurement device, in particular for yarn monitoring, and a method for producing such housing, from a plastics material by prototyping and receiving components of the measurement device such as a light source, sensor or lens. A method which improves the correspondence between the produced fancy yarn and the predetermined configuration of said fancy yarn. The fancy yarn is guided through a sensor device in a spinning device after it is formed and the diameter of the fancy yarn is continuously measured by the sensor device. The fancy configuration of the produced yarn is determined on the basis of the measured values of the diameter and is compared with the predetermined fancy configuration. The comparison is carried out until sufficient correspondence between the predetermined fancy configuration and the fancy configuration of the optimized, produced yarn is achieved.

Method for the production of a fancy yarn

A yarn cleaner for cleaning defects from a yarn, by means of a head for measuring at least one yarn parameter for comparison against cleaning limits determined for the yarn parameter. If the cleaning limits are exceeded, a defect in the yarn is indicated whereby intolerable defects may be cut out from the yarn. The yarn cleaner is set up for cleaning an effect yarn, also called a novelty or fancy yarn, formed from an alternating thinner webs and thickened effects in the yarn. At least one value of the yarn parameter is predetermined for webs and for effects and the cleaning limits of the yarn cleaner are adjusted such that they lie outside the predetermined value of the web parameter and outside the predetermined value of the effect parameter.

Yarn cleaner

A yarn sensor for optically scanning a yarn (), traveling longitudinally through a measurement gap (), includes a light source () projecting a beam of light into the measurement gap (), at least one receiver () for directly transmitted light, and light transmitting elements () transmitting the light between the light source (), measurement gap (), and receivers (). The light source () is an emitter with Lambert's emission characteristics. The light-transmitting element () includes a diaphragm and a lens, and the diaphragm is projected approximately into infinity. A diffusor () located between the light source () and the diaphragm generates radiation that passes through the diaphragm and is symmetrical to the optical axis of the lens. The yarn sensor can be used in the textile industry in spinning or bobbin winding machines with improved quality of the measurement results.

Yarn sensor

A yarn sensor for textile spinning and bobbin-winding machines for optically scanning a longitudinally traveling yarn () within a measurement gap (), particularly for detecting extraneous fibers, includes a light source (), a first receiver () for directly transmitted light, two further receivers () for light reflected from the yarn (), and light transmitting elements () between the light source (), measurement gap () and receivers (). In the absence of the yarn (), the receivers () detect projected images of the opposite wall () of the measurement gap (), located essentially outside both sides of the area of the wall () of the measurement gap () illuminated by the direct radiation of the light-emitting diode (). As a result, parasitic signals are suppressed, improving the detection of extraneous fibers.

A yarn sensor () for monitoring at least one parameter of a traveling yarn (), e.g., in spinning and bobbin-winding machines, has a measuring gap () and a housing made of a non-conductive plastic material for containing electronic components. The housing surface is covered by a metallic coating such that the electronic components are surrounded by the coating (). At least a portion of the surface inside the measuring gap () is free of the coating (). The metallic coating is connected with a heat conductor to remove heat via the metallic coating (). Undesirable effects on the measurement results can be substantially reduced, and the quality of the measurement results can be increased.

Yarn impurities are detectable by a method and device wherein a first diameterdependent signal is obtained in a first measurement of a linearly traveling yarn, the intensity of the light for a second measurement is set as a function of the first signal to compensate for the effect of the yarn diameter on the light reflected by the yarn and then the second electrical signal can be directly evaluated for detecting yarn impurities. The invention improves the detection of impurities, for example in connection with spinning and bobbin winding machines.

Method and device for the optical detection of foreign fibers and other impurities in a longitudinally traveling yarn

A method and device for detecting foreign bodies in longitudinally traveling yarn ( ), wherein light is directed on the yarn ( ) and is reflected by its surface. Light reflected by the yarn ( ) is detected by a sensor and is converted into signals. Subsequently, an evaluation of the signals is performed by comparing the signals with predetermined criteria which distinguish typical properties of foreign matter classified as tolerable, such as shell particles, from other foreign matter, such as foreign fibers, which are classified as not tolerable. Depending on whether these criteria are met, a decision is made whether a yarn interruption is suppressed or performed. In this manner, the efficiency of the production process of textile machines, such as spinning or bobbin winding machines, can be improved, and the uniformity and stability of the yarn are increased.

Method and device for detecting foreign matter in longitudinally traveling yarn

An apparatus detects foreign substances in strand-like textile material, such as slivers or yarn, using a white-light LED. The color detection is effected over more than two color support points whereby the detection of foreign substances in the textile material is improved. The apparatus is preferably operated in combination with a yarn cleaner in spinning or bobbin winding machines.
