An apparatus for separating mixed together substances of different flowability has a frame structure and a hollow drum with a perforated circumferential surface driven in a revolving manner and mounted on the frame structure. A pressing element lies externally in the region of the circumferential surface of the drum and is driven in a revolving manner, such that the drum and the pressing element form a product intake wedge for the feeding in a product stream, of material to be pressed. The drum and pressing element also form a pressing region. A discharge element is associated with the pressing element downstream of the pressing region in the product stream conveying direction, for discharging residues that remain on the pressing element after pressing. The discharge element is an actively drivable, endless discharge belt for discharging the residues in a discharge direction. A corresponding method is also provided.

An apparatus for separating substances of different flowability includes a housing base, a hollow drum having a perforated peripheral surface which is arranged on the housing base and is driven in a revolving manner, a continuous press belt pressed from outside against the hollow drum, while wrapping around a portion of the circumference of the hollow drum, and which, together with the hollow drum, forms an intake wedge for the material to be pressed. The press belt is mounted by at least one drive roller and at least one bearing roller, and is distinguished by the fact that the drive roller is mounted on a bearing support. A continuous press belt can be pressed against the hollow drum from the outside while wrapping around a portion of the circumference of the hollow drum. The drive element has at least one controllably movable holding means which is configured and adapted to controllably lock the hollow drum on the drive element as well as to controllably release the hollow drum from the drive element. The drive roller position is adjustably set by a first positioning device via a control device, with a first end abutment element for mechanical position limitation. Part of the first positioning device comes into blocking contact with a first counter-surface of the first end abutment element in the pressing position of the drive roller and the first counter-surface of the first end abutment element is adjustable by the control device.

A method and apparatus for processing fish fillets includes subjecting fish fillets lying on a skin side to a brief pulling cut in the tail region and a splitting separation by a stationary separating edge which, when the fillets approach, enters in the region of the pulling cut between skin and flesh layers and separates the two layers from each other, while at the same time a pull is exerted on the skin layer. Pressure is exerted on the flesh side of the fillet in the input region thereof against the separating edge, and the pulling cut is triggered under the control of a signal, effected in a few strokes and interrupted again immediately afterwards under the control of the signal, whereupon for continuation of the final separating operation the separating edge enters the region of the pulling cut between skin and fillet flesh layers.

Method and device for processing fillets of fish (conveyor belt fillet production)

A method and apparatus for processing flat fish is disclosed. The fish (5) are placed on a conveyor (1) and transported on a conveying surface (1.1) over an array of photosensing elements (3.4) which generate light absorbtion signals as the fish is advanced. These signals are sent to a computer, which determines the contour of the fish using information regarding the conveyor speed and computes cutting control signals using pre-programmed proportionality factors relating to the fish species. The cutting line control signals are sent to a cutting apparatus (4). As the advanced fish arrives at the cutting apparatus, two rotary knives (4.1) cut into the dorsal and ventral sides of the fish in response to the control signals to remove the dorsal fin together with a strip of fatty tissue (5.12) from one edge of the fish and the internal organs, the anal fin and the ventral strip of fatty tissue (5.11) from the other edge of the fish.
