A rotary knob for a control panel of a home appliance comprises a support collar, a fixed frontal plate forming a cover cap that is arranged at a front end of the support collar, a fixed sensor layer that is operable to detect touch inputs at the frontal plate, discrete indicator elements forming an indicator layer, which are operable to provide operator guidance, a rotatable ring that is rotatably mounted to the support collar, the rotatable ring being rotatable with respect to the fixed frontal plate, and circuitry arranged to detect rotary inputs via the rotatable ring, and touch inputs via the frontal plate.

Method for operator guidance, control panel component, production of a control panel component and home appliance comprising a control panel component

There is presented a method for selective operator guidance for operator inputs, in particular for operator inputs in a home appliance, to a control panel component, in particular for an operating control panel for a home appliance, and to a method for producing a control panel component, in particular for an operating control panel of a home appliance. In one aspect, the control panel component includes a cover layer, a sensor layer which covers a rear side of the cover layer in a flat manner, at least sectionally, and an indicator layer comprising at least one discrete indicator element, wherein the sensor layer is arranged between the cover layer and the at least one discrete indicator element, wherein the sensor layer is configured to detect operator inputs, in particular operator gestures, wherein the sensor layer is arranged to be activated sectionally depending on a desired input mode, and wherein the at least one discrete indicator element is arranged to be actuated for selective operator guidance.

In some aspects, a switching device for a medical apparatus includes a first switching member adapted to select an assigned operating function of the medical apparatus; and a second switching member adapted to permit the selecting of the assigned operating function of the first switching member. The second switching member is adapted such that it has a detection space in which it detects a presence of an operating object; and the first switching member is arranged in the detection space of the second switching member.

Switching devices for medical apparatuses and related systems and methods

A device includes a logic circuit having first, second, and third input ports, a first output port, and a feedback path between the first output port and the third input port. In a first operating state, a logic state change at the first input port triggers a logic state change at the first output port, but a logic state change at the third input port does not trigger a logic state change at the first output port. This allows signals to be routed through the device. In a second operating state, a logic state change of the third input port triggers a logic state change of the first output port. This change is fed back, delayed by a time value, to the third input to maintain an oscillation with at least two edges. The frequency of this oscillation is used to determine a value of a measurement variable.
