A connector element is configured in a manner of a flat connector and has a two-part connector housing extending in the longitudinal direction and a locking mechanism for forming a lockable plug-in connection with a counterpart. The locking mechanism contains a locking element having a pull tab fastened thereto. In order to enable a reliable emergency release even if the pull tab is ripped off, the locking element is led outside by a mounting part and the pull tab is irremovably fastened to the mounting part by riveting the pull tab or injection molding the pull tab onto the mounting part. This also makes it possible to easily adapt the pull element in a customer-specific manner.

Connector element

A plug element, in particular a QSFP plug element is configured for a lockable plug connection with a counter piece. The plug element contains a plug housing that extends in the longitudinal direction. In the housing an actuating element that is displaceabley mounted in the longitudinal direction being provided for unlocking. For locking, a wall section of the plug housing latches to a wall section of the counter piece in the plugged state. A flexible locking flap engages behind an edge of a recess. The recess is formed in a side wall of the plug housing and the locking flap is configured in a side wall of the counter piece. Unlocking is carried out by a displacement of the actuating element in the longitudinal direction, the element contains an unlocking element that pushes the locking flap perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction in the transverse direction out of the locking position.

Plug element having a locking mechanism

A plug element, in particular a so-called small form-factor pluggable connector, has a reliable, effective and easily mountable locking mechanism. To accomplish this, an arrangement of a locking element and an actuating element inside of a housing of the connector element is provided. The locking element contains a detent element for latching and locking with a mating piece, into which the connector element can be inserted to form a lockable plug connection. The actuating element contains a grip part, which is guided through a first opening through the housing to the outside.
