A classifying device may be used to classify a granular material flow. The classifying device may comprise a first inlet that allows a first material flow into the classifying device, a second inlet that allows a second material flow into the classifying device, a static classifier, and a dynamic classifier. The static classifier may be positioned such that the static classifier at least partially surrounds the dynamic classifier. The classifying device may comprise a distributing device that is designed in such a manner that it supplies the material flow of the first inlet to the static classifier and the material flow of the second inlet to the dynamic classifier.

Classifying device for classifying a granular material flow

A classifier for classifying granular feedstock has a rotary cage rotating about a rotor axis and an air-guiding system arranged around the rotary cage, wherein a classifying zone is formed between the rotary cage and the air-guiding system. In the classifying zone one or more baffles are arranged such that the torque acting on the rotary cage is increased&#x2014;for the same rotational speed&#x2014;by at least 20% with respect to an embodiment without baffles and/or the separation between the air-guiding system and the rotary cage is chosen such that the torque acting on the rotary cage is increased&#x2014;for the same rotational speed&#x2014;by at least 20% with respect to an embodiment wherein the separation of the air-guiding system is without influence on the torque of the rotary cage.

Classifier and method for operating a classifier

Disclosed is a grinding mill including a roller press configured to comminute grinding stock, a first conveying mechanism in communication with the roller press and configured to transport downstream at least one of fresh grinding stock or grinding stock comminuted by the roller press, and a static sifter disposed downstream of the first conveying mechanism and configured to sift at least one of the fresh grinding stock or grinding stock comminuted by said roller press. The static sifter includes a sifting stock inlet disposed in an upper sifting space, and sifting gas inlet disposed in a lower sifting space, and an aeration plate separating the upper sifting space from the lower sifting space. The aeration plate also permits sifting gas to pass there through from the lower to the upper sifting space. The static sifter also includes oversized material outlets disposed in each of the respective upper and lower sifting spaces.
