In a method for optimizing a cutting process in milling machines which are used to machine road coverings, which comprise a milling device fitted with milling tools which is sprayed with liquid in order to cool the milling tools, in addition to a drive motor, the following steps are provided: detection of the at least one parameter which is representative of the instantaneous power output of the milling device and controlling the amount of cooling liquid supplied according to the at least one parameter which is representative of the instantaneous power output of the milling device.

Method for optimizing a cutting process in road milling machines, as well as milling machine for machining road coverings

A self-propelled construction machine, comprises a machine frame, on which a working unit is arranged, and comprises a drive unit for driving the working unit. An additive, in particular a urea solution for operating an exhaust gas treatment system, is provided in an operating material tank which is integrated in the fuel tank or water tank of the construction machine. The integration of the operating material tank in the fuel tank or water tank does not necessitate any modifications to the machine frame. The dimensions of the construction machine can also remain unchanged, since the fuel tank does not take up any extra space on the machine frame if the dimensions of the fuel tank or water tank are maintained.

Self-propelled construction machine

A construction machine for the treatment of ground surfaces includes a machine frame and a work drum supported from the machine frame and including exchangeable tools fastened to the work drum. A drive line includes a work motor and a transmission connecting the work motor to the work drum. The transmission includes a belt drive and a reduction gear. An auxiliary drive is mounted at a location on the construction machine and includes an auxiliary drive motor. The auxiliary drive has a first configuration in which the auxiliary drive motor is coupled to the work drum via at least a portion of the transmission to rotate the work drum. The auxiliary drive has a second configuration in which the auxiliary drive remains mounted at the location on the construction machine and the work drum can be rotated by the work motor.

Auxiliary drive

A construction machine for the treatment of ground surfaces includes a machine frame, a drive motor, a work drum supported from the machine frame and including exchangeable tools fastened to the work drum, a belt drive and an auxiliary drive. The belt drive includes a motor-side pulley connected to the drive motor, a drum-side pulley connected to the work drum, and at least one drive belt connecting the motor-side pulley to the drum-side pulley. The auxiliary drive may be permanently coupled to the belt drive, or the auxiliary drive may include an adjustment mechanism for moving the auxiliary drive between a coupled and an uncoupled position.

A construction machine for the treatment of ground surfaces includes a chassis carrying a machine frame, a driveable work drum supported from the machine frame and including an outer surface and exchangeable tools fastened to the outer surface, a working space defined within the machine adjacent the work drum, and at least one seat for an operating person, the at least one seat being movable into a working position in the work space adjacent the work drum so that the operating person can exchange the tools on the work drum.
