A milking system includes a vacuum pump (); milking equipment (); a conduit () connecting the milking equipment to the vacuum pump; and a first vacuum regulator () provided to maintain a preset vacuum level in the milking equipment. A second vacuum regulator () is arranged between the first vacuum regulator and the vacuum pump and is provided for regulating the preset vacuum to a desired level. Preferably, the second vacuum regulator includes a pressure sensor () provided for measuring a pressure level in the milking system; adjustable air admitting elements (), e.g. a solenoid valve, provided for admitting air to enter the conduit; and a control device () provided for controlling the second vacuum regulator depending on the measured pressure level.

Milking system and method for vacuum regulation

A method for controlling the milking by a milking machine includes, during an initial phase of the milking, increasing a milking vacuum and/or a maximum pulsation vacuum for the milking gradually from a first selected vacuum level (L) towards a second selected vacuum level (L) to thereby improve teat stimulation and decreasing the risk of a second milk letdown. When a second milk letdown (ML) is detected, the maximum pulsation vacuum is preferably immediately lowered to a third selected vacuum level (L), and is kept at that third selected vacuum level until a certain milk flow has been established, whereupon the pulsation vacuum level is then again increased gradually until the second selected vacuum level is reached.

Method and arrangement for controlling the milking by a milking machine

A method for controlling the milking by a milking machine includes, during an initial phase of the milking, increasing a milking vacuum and/or a maximum pulsation vacuum for the milking gradually from a first selected vacuum level (1L) towards a second selected vacuum level (2L) to thereby improve teat stimulation and decreasing the risk of a second milk letdown. The invention relates to a milk conveyer device () for an animal. The milk conveyer device is to be implemented in a milking arrangement which comprises a milk storage reservoir () coupled to a milking attachment for attaching to an animal to be milked through a main milk conduit (). A sample element () extracts milk, which is collected in a sample reservoir (). The sample reservoir () is connected to an analysis element () through an analysis conduit (). During the flow of the milk from the sample reservoir to the analysis element (), the milk itself provides a cleaning effect. The flow is initially at a high flow rate and later at a reduced flow rate. A plurality of analysis conduits () are connected to the analysis element (), which comprises a selector unit (), which couples milk from one of the analysis conduits () to the analysis element (). The device provides a self-cleaning effect and a low carry-over of milk between two successive milking operations, i.e. between the milk of two different animals.
