A method for increasing oil recovery from an oil reservoir in which method surplus gas streams from a plant for synthesis of higher hydrocarbons from natural gas is injected into the reservoir, is described. The surplus streams from the plant is the tailgas from the synthesis and optionally nitrogen from an air separation unit which delivers oxygen or oxygen enriched air to the plant for synthesis of higher hydrocarbons.

Method for oil recovery from an oil field

A method for increasing oil recovery from an oil reservoir by injection of gas into the reservoir, is described. The method comprises separation of air into an oxygen-rich fraction and a nitrogen-rich fraction, reformation of natural gas together with oxygen to produce a synthesis gas for production of methanol or other oxygenated hydrocarbons or higher hydrocarbons. The raw synthesis products and a waste gas from the synthesis are separated, and the nitrogen-rich fraction and at least a part of the waste gas are injected into the oil reservoir to increase the oil recovery from the reservoir. A plant for performing the method is also described.

Plant and a method for increased oil recovery

A method and a plant for simultaneous production of a gas for injection into an oil field and production of methanol, dimethyl ether and/or other oxygenated hydrocarbons or production of higher hydrocarbons from natural gas is disclosed. An air separation unit (ATR) for production of pure nitrogen for injection and pure oxygen for production of synthesis gas ('syngas') by authermal reformation of a natural gas is an essential part of the method and plant.

Method and plant or increasing oil recovery by gas injection

A method of increasing the production in an existing process plant for converting natural gas into a product, where the natural gas is first converted to a synthesis gas in a synthesis gas section, the synthesis gas is brought to reaction in a reactor for synthesis of the product, where non-converted synthesis gas and product are separated into two streams, where a product-rich stream is taken off the process, while a product-poor stream is re-circulated back as feed to the reactor together with fresh synthesis gas, and where part of the re-circulating stream is taken off the re-circulation loop as a purge gas, where the purge gas is separated into hydrogen-rich and hydrogen-poor streams, where hydrogen-rich streams are introduced in stages of the process where addition of hydrogen is desirable, and where the residual thermal value of the hydrogen-poor stream may be used for heating prior to the stream being discharged, wherein the synthesis gas from the synthesis gas section receives a hydrogen-rich stream from the separated purge gas, and that this hydrogen enriched synthesis gas is passed through a new flow reactor for production of product, and also a unit for separating a product-rich stream that is taken off, and a product-poor stream used as feed to the original reactor, and that the product-poor stream, which is used as feed to the original reactor, receives additional synthesis gas produced in a separate secondary synthesis gas line, is described. Additionally, a process plant for carrying out the method is described.

Method for increasing the production in an existing processing plant and a processing plant

The present invention concerns a method for preparing a CO-rich gas stream for injection purposes or deposition, and a hydrogen rich gas stream, the method comprising the following steps: a) natural gas and HO are fed into a one-step reforming process for preparing a gas mixture comprising COand Hunder supercritical condition for water from about 400&#xb0; C. to about 600&#xb0; C. and pressure from about 200 to about 500 bar in the reforming reactor; b) the gas mixture from a) is separated into a H-rich and CO-rich gas stream, respectively. The invention also comprises use of CO-rich gas stream for injection into marine formations, and use of H-rich stream for hydrogenation, as a source of energy/fuel in fuel cells and for production or electricity.

Method for preparing a H2-rich gas and a CO2-rich gas at high pressure

The present invention comprises a method for production of a CO-rich gas stream and a H-rich gas stream, the method comprising the following steps: a) natural gas and water are fed to a reforming reactor and are converted to synthesis gas under supply of a O-containing gas: b) the gas stream from a) is shifted, whereby the content of CO is reduced and the amounts of COand Hare increased by reaction of HO; c) the gas stream from b) is separated in a separation unit into a CO-rich and a H-rich gas stream, respectively. The invention also concerns the use of a CO-rich gas stream for injection into marine formations, and the use of a H-rich gas stream for hydrogenation, as a source of energy/fuel in fuel cells or for production of electricity.

Process for preparing a H2-rich gas and a CO2-rich gas at high pressure

A process for the production of methanol and/or dimethyl ether and/or other xygenates thereof, a H -rich and a CO -rich stream and an integrated plant for the production in said process of methanol and/or dimethyl ether and/or other oxygenates thereof, a H -rich and a CO -rich stream. The use of H formed by a shift reaction in a shift reactor for the reduction of CO and CO in a methanol synthesis reactor is disclosed.

A method for increasing production in an existing processing plant for converting natural gas into a product, wherein the natural gas is first converted into a synthesis gas in a synthesis gas section, the synthesis gas is reacted in a reactor for synthesis of the product, where non-converted synthesis gas and product are separated into two streams, where a product-rich stream is taken out of the process, while a product-poor stream is recycled as feed to the reactor together with make-up synthesis gas, and where a portion of the recycle stream is taken out of the recycle loop as a purge gas, where the purge gas is separated into hydrogen-rich and hydrogen-poor streams, where hydrogen-rich streams are introduced into steps in the process where it is desirable to have a supplement of hydrogen, and where the residual thermal value of the hydrogen-poor stream is optionally used for heating before it is discharged. A modified processing plant for carrying out the method is also described.
