An arrangement for determining an amount of light reaching an image sensor of a video camera is disclosed. The video camera comprises an imaging lens system guiding a beam path towards an image sensor and has an aperture plane where a variable aperture is arranged. The inventive arrangement comprises a light sensor arranged to probe light intensity continuously from a portion of the beam path, which portion is located in or near the aperture plane of the imaging lens system.

An arrangement for determining an amount of light reaching an image sensor of a video camera, the video camera comprising an imaging lens system guiding a beam path towards an image sensor, wherein the arrangement comprises a transparent probing element through which the beam path passes on its way to the image sensor, and a light sensor arranged in an end of the transparent probing element. The light sensor is arranged to collect light being scattered or reflected in the transparent probing element.

A video camera system comprises an imaging system having a camera lens and an image sensor, and a retractable IR-cut filter, and a control unit for controlling the imaging system. The video camera system has a day-mode in which the IR-cut filter is arranged in front of the image sensor, and a night-mode in which the IR-cut filter is retracted from its position in front of the image sensor. Furthermore, the video camera has a field of view defined by properties of its imaging system, and it comprises a separate light-sensor for measuring an ambient light level so as to support a decision regarding when to actuate a transfer from night-mode to day-mode, or vice versa. A cable includes a sheath extending a length of the cable. The cable further includes a flexible wire disposed within the sheath that runs a substantial portion of the length of the cable. The wire acts to fold the cable in a pre-defined configuration. In some implementations, the cable also includes magnets disposed on or within the sheath. The magnets act to fold the cable in the pre-defined configuration in conjunction with the flexible wire.
