A CMOS device with a plurality of PMOS transistors each having a PMOS drain and a plurality of NMOS transistors each having an NMOS drain includes a first interconnect and a second interconnect. The first interconnect is on an interconnect level extending in a length direction to connect the PMOS drains together, and the second interconnect is on the interconnect level extending in the length direction to connect the NMOS drains together. A set of interconnects on at least one additional interconnect level physically couple the first interconnect and the second interconnect to an output of the CMOS device. A third interconnect on the interconnect level extends perpendicular to the length direction and offset from the set of interconnects. The third interconnect is capable of flowing current from the PMOS drains or from the NMOS drains to the output of the CMOS device.

Layout construction for addressing electromigration

A first interconnect on an interconnect level connects a first subset of PMOS drains together of a CMOS device. A second interconnect on the interconnect level connects a second subset of the PMOS drains together. The second subset of the PMOS drains is different than the first subset of the PMOS drains. The first interconnect and the second interconnect are disconnected on the interconnect level. A third interconnect on the interconnect level connects a first subset of NMOS drains together of the CMOS device. A fourth interconnect on the interconnect level connects a second subset of the NMOS drains together. The second subset of the NMOS drains is different than the first subset of the NMOS drains. The third interconnect and the fourth interconnect are disconnected on the interconnect level. The first, second, third, and fourth interconnects are coupled together through at least one other interconnect level.

A CMOS device with a plurality of PMOS transistors and a plurality of NMOS transistors includes a first interconnect and a second interconnect on an interconnect level connecting a first subset and a second subset of PMOS drains together, respectively. The first and second subsets are different and the first and second interconnect are disconnected on the interconnect level. A third interconnect and a fourth interconnect on the interconnect level connect a first subset and a second subset of the NMOS drains together, respectively. The third interconnect and the fourth interconnect are disconnected on the interconnect level. The first, second, third, fourth interconnects are coupled together through at least one other interconnect level. Additional interconnects on the interconnect level connect the first and third interconnects together, and the second and fourth interconnects together, to provide parallel current paths with a current path through the at least one other interconnect level.

A standard cell CMOS device includes metal oxide semiconductor transistors having gates formed from gate interconnects. The gate interconnects extend in a first direction. The device further includes M1 layer interconnects. The M1 layer interconnects are parallel to the gate interconnects and extend in the first direction only. The device further includes a M0 layer interconnect. The M0 layer interconnect extends directly over a first gate interconnect and extends in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction only. The M0 layer interconnect is below the M1 layer and is isolated from directly connecting to the first gate interconnect. The device further includes a layer interconnect that is different from the M1 layer interconnects and the M0 layer interconnect. The layer interconnect is connected to the M0 layer interconnect and is directly connected to a second gate electrode.

Standard cell architecture with M1 layer unidirectional routing

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for assigning feature colors for a multiple patterning process are provided. The apparatus receives integrated circuit layout information including a set of features and an assigned color of a plurality of colors for each feature of a first subset of features of the set of features. In addition, the apparatus performs color decomposition on a second subset of features to assign colors to features in the second subset of features. The second subset of features includes features in the set of features that are not included in the first subset of features with an assigned color.

Hybrid coloring methodology for multi-pattern technology

A first interconnect on an interconnect level connects a first subset of PMOS drains together of a CMOS device. A method of designing conductive interconnects includes determining a residual spacing value based at least in part on an integer multiple of a interconnect trace pitch and a designated cell height. The method also includes allocating the residual spacing to at least one interconnect trace width or interconnect trace space within the interconnect trace pitch.

Variable interconnect pitch for improved performance

A CMOS device with a plurality of PMOS transistors each having a PMOS drain and a plurality of NMOS transistors each having an NMOS drain includes a first interconnect on an interconnect level extending in a length direction to connect the PMOS drains together. A second interconnect on the interconnect level extends in the length direction to connect the NMOS drains together. A set of interconnects on at least one additional interconnect level couple the first interconnect and the second interconnect together. Systems and methods for powering up circuits are described herein. In one embodiment, a method for power up comprises comparing a voltage of a first supply rail with a voltage of a second supply rail, and determining whether the voltage of the first supply rail is within a predetermined amount of the voltage of the second supply rail for at least a predetermined period of time based on the comparison. The method also comprises initiating switching of a plurality of switches coupled between the first and second supply rails upon a determination that the voltage of the first supply rail is within the predetermined amount of the voltage of the second supply rail for at least the predetermined period of time.

Cross-couple in multi-height sequential cells for uni-directional M1

A semiconductor device includes a gate and a first active contact adjacent to the gate. Such a device further includes a first stacked contact electrically coupled to the first active contact, including a first isolation layer on sidewalls electrically isolating the first stacked contact from the gate. The device also includes a first via electrically coupled to the gate and landing on the first stacked contact. The first via electrically couples the first stacked contact and the first active contact to the gate to ground the gate.

Grounding dummy gate in scaled layout design

An SOC apparatus includes a plurality of gate interconnects with a minimum pitch g, a plurality of metal interconnects with a minimum pitch m, and a plurality of vias interconnecting the gate interconnects and the metal interconnects. The vias have a minimum pitch v. The values m, g, and v are such that g+m&#x2267;vand an LCM of g and m is less than 20 g. The SOC apparatus may further include a second plurality of metal interconnects with a minimum pitch of m, where m&#x3e;m and the LCM of g, m, and mis less than 20 g.
