A negative electrode pre-lithiation method comprising the steps of: manufacturing a negative electrode by forming, on a negative electrode current collector, a negative electrode active material layer comprising a negative electrode active material. Then, manufacturing a pre-lithiation cell, which comprises the negative electrode and a lithium metal counter electrode, and impregnating the pre-lithiation cell with a pre-lithiation solution; and charging the pre-lithiation cell with a constant voltage to form a pre-lithiated negative electrode. The pre-lithiation solution comprises 3 vol % to 30 vol % of an organic carbonate compound substituted with halogen.

Negative electrode pre-lithiation method

A method of manufacturing a negative electrode wherein, in the pre-lithiation of a negative electrode structure including a negative electrode active material layer formed therein through electrochemical charging in a roll-to-roll manner, the negative electrode active material layer is divided into a central part and a side part. The charge current applied to the central part is higher than the charge current applied to the side part. In addition, in the method of manufacturing the negative electrode a pre-lithiation section is divided into a first section and a second section, the central part is electrochemically charged in the first section, the side part is electrochemically charged in the second section, and the central part and the side part are alternately electrochemically charged in one or more cycles.

A device for pre-lithiation including a pre-lithiation reactor sequentially divided into an impregnation section, a pre-lithiation section, and an aging section. The pre-lithiation reactor accommodates a pre-lithiation solution through which a negative electrode structure is moved. A negative electrode roll is arranged outside the pre-lithiation solution, and the pre-movement negative electrode structure is wound. A lithium metal counter electrode is arranged in the pre-lithiation solution of the pre-lithiation section, and is arranged to be spaced apart from the negative electrode structure to face the negative electrode structure moving in the pre-lithiation solution. A charging and discharging unit is connected to the negative electrode structure and connected to the lithium metal counter electrode. Disclosed is a method of preparing a negative electrode which includes the steps of: forming a cell by sequentially stacking a preliminary negative electrode, a separator, and a lithium metal, immersing the cell in an electrolyte solution comprising a lithium salt and a solvent; applying a current after the cell is immersed in the electrolyte solution containing the lithium salt and the solvent, separating the preliminary negative electrode from the cell after removing the cell immersed in the electrolyte solution from the electrolyte solution, washing the separated preliminary negative electrode, performing a first drying on the washed preliminary negative electrode at room temperature, and performing a second drying on the first dried preliminary negative electrode at a temperature ranging from 30° C. to 70° C. in a vacuum state.

A negative electrode and a lithium rechargeable battery manufactured using the lithium-active material powder has an SEI film that is uniformly formed by having lithium uniformly doped in the negative electrode. Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a negative electrode, wherein a negative electrode structure is electrochemically charged while being pressed with a plurality of pre-lithiation rolls in performing pre-lithiation of the negative electrode structure by a roll-to-roll method, and here, the pressing pressures of the plurality of pre-lithiation rolls are increased in a movement direction of the negative electrode structure. Since the pressing pressures are increased in the movement direction of the negative electrode structure, volume expansion, structural deformation, and damage to an active material due to the pre-lithiation may be prevented, and at the same time, the pre-lithiation may be performed uniformly, and thus it is preferable for improving lifespan characteristics of a negative electrode.
