Embodiments of the invention comprise skill-based wagering games, systems and devices. In one embodiment of the invention, the configuration of a skill-based game is dependent upon the skill level of the player or players. In one embodiment, the game is configured so that the odds of winning the game, and thus the payout for a winning outcome, depends upon the player's skill level. In other embodiments, the payouts or awards offered to players are fixed and the difficultly level for achieving a winning outcome is adjusted based upon the skill levels of the players. In some case, games are modified, such as to have a higher payout or lower difficulty, when criteria for modification are met based which are dependent upon a persona of the player.

In a method of presenting a game, a player places an ante wager, a secondary wager and one or more optional bonus or side bets via an input receiving device of a gaming table. Three cards are dealt to the player and a dealer, and thereafter two pairs of community cards are dealt. The player must place a tertiary wager to continue the game. The player and dealer attempt to form a highest ranking five card flush hand from their three cards and the community cards. The outcome of the player's ante, secondary and tertiary wagers are determined with reference to at least one of the dealer's hand and the player's hand. The optional bonus or side bets may be resolved relative to certain criteria for cards dealt in the game. Awards for winning wagers or bets may be awarded in accordance with a pay table or via a wheel spin or other award selection event which is initiated by the player.

Method and device for presenting and playing card-type games

Gaming devices and systems are configured to present a game in which players place a game wager on either a banker hand or a player hand. Initial two card player and banker hands are dealt, and if either or both comprise a blackjack, the outcome of the game and associated wagers is resolved relative to those initial hands. If not, final banker and player hands are completed based upon predefined rules. The outcome of the game and the associated game wagers are then resolved relative to those final hands. In one embodiment, the final hands are resolved in similar fashion to a blackjack game with the winning hand being the one with a point total closest to 21 without going over. One or more side bets may also be available to each player.

A method of playing and presenting a game, such as at an electronic gaming device, offers players the opportunity for multi-tier wagering and side or proposition bets. In one embodiment a card game offers an ante, secondary, tertiary and quaternary wagering options on a player hand against a dealer hand and proposition bets on the player and/or dealer hands. The game may comprise a card game in which initial cards are dealt to each player and the dealer and then community flop, river and turn cards are dealt, with each player and the dealer forming a best five card poker hand from seven cards.

Electronic gaming devices for playing a card game having multiple wagering opportunities

One step of the present method involves making an across ante and a down ante and an optional five card poker bet. Other steps involve making an across bet or folding, making a down bet or folding, and making a middle bet or folding. All winning bets are paid out against a designated payout table for that bet. A winning middle bet is paid to the higher of the two five card poker hands formed by the players two dealt cards and either the three across community cards or the three down community cards. Game wagers are received without designating the hand used to resolve the game wager. At least two hands are dealt. A portion of the playing cards among those dealt to the hands are exposed. The exposed playing cards may come entirely from one hand or may come from multiple hands. After exposing a portion of the cards, a designation wager is received along with a designation of one of the hands for resolution of the designation wager and game wager. Hands are completed according to the rules of baccarat or a baccarat variation. After the hands are completed, a determination is made whether the designated hand is a winning hand and wagers are resolved. Optionally, designation wagers are paid and game wagers are returned when the designated hand is a winning hand.

Method and device for conducting a card game

Methods of administering wagering games may involve accepting an ante wager and a blind wager from a player. Cards may be dealt to the player and a dealer hand. A play wager or an election to fold may be accepted from the player. A value of the play wager may depend on when the play wager is accepted relative to when the player discards and draws cards. The play wager may be accepted at a first value before the player discards any cards. The play wager may be accepted at a second, lower or equal value, after the player discards any cards. The dealer hand may discard and draw cards. The ante and blind wagers may be resolved by comparing the dealer and player hands. The blind wager may be resolved by comparing the dealer and player hands and comparing the player hand to a set of predetermined, blind-winning hands.

Methods, systems and apparatus for administering wagering games

Game wagers are received on a hand. At least two hands are dealt and completed according to an underlying game of baccarat or baccarat variation. A bonus wager is received. After the hands are completed, a determination is made whether an end-bonus condition is met. If not, a determination is made whether a bonus-eligible sum has been obtained in a designated hand. Bonus-eligible hand sums may include designated hand sums in a player hand, a banker hand, a player hand or banker hand, and/or a player hand and banker hand. Bonus-eligible hand sums may also be hand sums closer to a target value in a designated hand. When bonus-eligible sums have been obtained in a threshold quantity of bonus triggering games, without obtaining an end-bonus condition, an award is issued on the bonus wager.
