A rotating plate misting fan (RPMF) capable of delivering cooling to industrial environments including loading bays for docked trailers, includes a rotating plate assembly configured to eliminate or minimize water collection in the environment area and a controller configured to automatically adjust a vapor rate and fan speed of the fan as a function of distance to objects in proximity to the rotating plate misting fan and psychrometric parameters.

A method of printing is provided where printing is using a first printing unit having redundant nozzles. Then, the method may include stopping the printing with the first printing unit while continuing the printing with active nozzles of a second printing unit. The method may include inspecting the first printing unit and identifying faulty nozzles, then designating the faulty nozzles as inactive and designating inactive nozzles of the first printing unit as a new active nozzle. According to some embodiments the method may include moving the first printing unit to an inspection zone prior to inspecting while continuing the printing with active nozzles of a second printing unit and moving the first printing unit back to the printing zone after inspection and continuing the printing with the first printing unit.

Method and system for nozzle compensation in non-contact material deposition

Embodiments of the invention are directed to a method of printing lines. The method may include depositing material on a substrate from a plurality of nozzles to form a multi-layered line of a desired cross section area or a desired height by dispensing the material in at least two layers in a single scan. Each layer may be printed by different nozzles and the number of layers in the line is determined based on the desired cross section area or height.

A system and method for automatically and accurately determining the exact location of a knife-edge, such as an edge of an optical shutter, so that it can be controlled automatically. In one aspect the system comprises a mechanized shutter coupled to a shutter controller that can automatically control the shutter's location and movement. According to one implementation of the shutter controller the system takes a first image at a first shutter position. The shutter is then moved a predetermined about and a second image is taken. Then, the pixels of each image are added in the direction perpendicular to the movement of the shutter, so as to provide two one-dimension functions. A linear difference of the functions is then taken, so as to obtain a one-dimensional linear difference function. A peak in the linear difference function is then identified as the location of the shutter.
