Non-imaging radiation collecting and concentrating devices, and assemblies, are disclosed. The non-imaging radiation collecting and concentrating devices comprise an entrance aperture for receiving incoming radiation, an exit aperture located opposite to the entrance aperture for outputting concentrated radiation, and one or more concaved reflectors arranged between the entrance and exit apertures. The concaved reflectors define an acceptance angle of the device relative to an optical axis thereof and configured such that their optical focuses are located between edges of the exit aperture and the optical axis, thereby substantially preventing escape of the incoming radiation received in the entrance aperture within the acceptance angle and providing substantial uniform radiation collection at the exit aperture of the device.

Radiation collector and method of manufacture thereof

An endoscope assembly comprising a handle incorporating a liquid reservoir and injection system, a flexible or rigid cannula attaching to the handle, and a distally attached miniature imaging head. The imaging head is a transparent tubular shaped body having an essentially closed proximal end, and a tubular wall extending from the closed proximal end to the distal open end of the body. An optical source is attached to the closed proximal end, and its emitted illumination directed into the tubular wall of the body, such that said illumination is internally reflected within the tubular walls and is emitted from the distal open end. A detector array is disposed within the inner surfaces of the tubular wall section, and a lens images light reflected back into said imaging head, onto the detector array. The optical source is disposed radially inwards of the outer dimensions of the tubular shaped body.

An electromagnetic radiation collecting device is presented, which is particularly useful for the collection of solar radiation, providing optimal radiation collection throughout the daytime, and throughout yearly seasonal changes. The collector entails a redundant number of static collectors arranged in such a manner as to provide maximal and chronologically evened collection outline.

Techniques for reducing emission of electromagnetic radiation from a cellular communication device are disclosed. Upon determining fulfillment of a defined condition or event, operation of a cellular communication unit of the cellular communication device is at least partially deactivated, and a deactivation notification is sent to at least one another preselected cellular communication device through either the cellular communication unit or an alternative communication channel, to inform that cellular communication of the cellular communication device has been disabled. Cellular communication of the device can be restored upon receiving, through the alternative communication channel, an activation request from the at least one other preselected cellular communication device, and responsively changing the state of the cellular communication unit into its active state.
