Disclosed is a skin securable therapeutic fluid dispensing device that includes a reservoir adapted to retain therapeutic fluid, a pump driving mechanism, and at least one housing configured to accommodate the reservoir and the pump driving mechanism, with at least a portion of the at least one housing defining at least a portion of the reservoir. The device also includes a shield coupled to the at least one housing, the shield configured to protect, at least in part, the reservoir from application of external forces thereon.

Disclosed is a portable therapeutic fluid dispensing device. The fluid dispensing device includes a reusable part () comprising a reusable part housing including at least a controller and a first portion () of a driving mechanism, and a disposable part () comprising a disposable part housing including at least a reservoir () to retain therapeutic fluid, an outlet port to which the therapeutic fluid is dispensed, a fluid conduit providing fluid communication between the reservoir and the outlet port, and a second portion () of the driving mechanism. At least a portion of the disposable part housing defines at least a portion of the reservoir. Modular skin-adherable system for medical fluid delivery

An inserter and methods of using embodiments of the inserter are described. The inserter includes a housing having a cannula assembly and an insertion mechanism. Two buttons are located on the inserter and are concomitantly actionable for actuation of the insertion mechanism, wherein the insertion mechanism is configured to place a cannula assembly in a well that is disposed on the cradle. The inserter also includes a first parts and second part, whereby the first part includes a handle and the second part comprises the entire insertion mechanism, whereby the first and second part are connected via an indentation.

The apparatus includes a pump mechanism for pumping therapeutic fluid to the user having a reusable part which includes a housing and a disposable part configured to be inserted into the housing of the reusable part and to be connected with the reusable part. The connection of the reusable part and the disposable part enables operation of the pump mechanism and disconnection of the reusable part and the disposable part disables operation of the pump mechanism.
