An energy absorption device with a pedestrian protection function for a motor vehicle includes a deformation structure which can be deformed based on pulses at different force levels in a switchable manner. The energy absorption device additionally has a sensor console which is arranged parallel to the deformation structure and which protrudes in the deformation direction beyond the deformation structure in the direction of the vehicle exterior. The sensor console is designed to support a collision detection sensor.

An air flap for an air flap assembly for a vehicle front is provided. The air flap has a front face and a lateral face having a slotted guide system. The air flap blocks an air inlet in the vehicle front through the front face in a closed position and opens the air inlet in an open position. The air flap is rotatable from the closed position into the open position by a rotary movement about an axis of rotation by way of a driver of an actuator, which driver can be guided in the slotted guide system. The slotted guide system located on the lateral face of the air flap has a tapered portion, so that the slotted guide system and the driver have substantially no play in relation to one another in the region of the tapered portion.

A deformation device for attaching to a crossmember of a bumper and for converting impact energy onto a lighting device has at least two deformation elements arranged in series and orientated in the same direction. The deformation device also has a support element which can be secured to a crossmember of a bumper, wherein the at least two deformation elements are secured to the support element. Each deformation element has an unstructured, flat surface and is designed such that the deformation elements buckle due to a force acting in a first direction and bend due to a force acting in a second direction.

An air flap system for controlling air ingress into a motor vehicle has at least one air flap, which can be pivoted between an open position and a closed position, and an actuator, which is coupled to the air flap, such that the actuator is suitable for effecting the pivoting of the air flap. The actuator is arranged off-center in a central region with respect to one extent of the air flap system along a transverse axis of the vehicle. The central region is one of at least three regions which are arranged adjoining one another along the extent, the central region being arranged centrally with respect to the extent.

A deformation structure has at least a first layer and a second layer, which are spaced apart from each other and are mounted to be movable relative to each other in the deformation direction or load direction. The first layer and the second layer have complementary protrusions and recesses, which are designed such that the protrusions of the first layer can dip into the recesses of the second layer and vice versa. The first layer and the second layer are connected to each other by deformable connecting pieces such that, in the event of a high impulse in the deformation direction, the protrusions of the first layer dip into the recesses of the second layer and the protrusions of the second layer dip into the recesses of the first layer such that the deformation structure is deformed in the deformation direction at a relatively low level of force and, in the event of a low impulse in the deformation direction, the protrusions of the first layer hit the protrusions of the second layer such that the deformation structure is deformed further in the deformation direction at a relatively high level of force. The deformation control device is formed or produced separately from the first and the second layer and is removably or non-removably connected to the first layer and the second layer.

A pedestrian protection device for a motor vehicle includes a crossbar and a deformation device which is arranged in front of the crossbar. The deformation device has bending limbs with ends which contact a surface or come into contact with the surface in the event of a collision of the motor vehicle and which are designed to be movable along the surface as a result of the collision, and a latching device is formed on the surface, said latching device being latchable with the ends of the bending limbs as a result of the collision. The deformation device has a plurality of such bending limbs, wherein a first bending limb and a second bending limb are arranged adjacently to each other, and the first bending limb and the second bending limb are offset relative to each other in the movement direction of the bending limbs and/or the end of the first bending limb and the end of the second bending limb are designed to be movable in opposite directions.

Pedestrian protection device for a motor vehicle

An air flap system for controlling the intake of air into a motor vehicle includes at least one air flap which can be pivoted between an open position and a closed position, and an elastic element which is provided to couple the air flap system to a vehicle frame. The elastic element is elastic at least partially along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.

A motor vehicle deformation device has two elements moveable together in a collision event and optionally locked. A locking device has a first centrifugal lever pivotably mounted about a first pivot axis located on the first element, a first torsion spring operatively connected to the first lever, a first rolling surface and a first contact surface arranged distally to same, as well as an identically designed second centrifugal lever neighboring the first lever. In a low-speed collision, the two levers each swivel such that the two rolling surfaces are in contact with one another and the two contact surfaces each rest against a corresponding receiving surface on the second element. In a pedestrian accident situation, the two levers each swivel such that the two rolling surfaces are in contact with one another, while the first and second contact surfaces are at a distance from the second element.

Deformation device for a motor vehicle and motor vehicle comprising a deformation device of this type

A deformation structure includes at least one first layer and a second layer, which are arranged spaced apart from one another in a deformation direction and such that they can be displaced relative to one another. The first layer and the second layer have complementary protrusions and recesses, which are designed in such a way that the protrusions of the first layer and recesses of the second layer, as well as the protrusions of the second layer and recesses of the first layer can dip into one another. The first layer and the second layer are connected to one another via deformable web elements in such a way that, with a high impulse in the deformation direction, the protrusions of the first layer dip into recesses of the second layer, and protrusions of the second layer dip into recesses of the first layer, such that a deformation of the deformation structure occurs at a low force level in the deformation direction, and with a low impulse in the deformation direction, the protrusions of the first layer impinge on the protrusions of the second layer such that a deformation of the deformation structure occurs at a high force level in the deformation direction.

A motor vehicle has a container for receiving liquids arranged in a motor compartment of the motor vehicle in a space-saving manner. The two front end sections of the two front axle supports are connected together by two transverse supports, which are arranged at a distance from each other in the vehicle longitudinal direction, and the container for receiving liquids is arranged in the intermediate space between the two front axle supports.

A pedestrian protection device for a motor vehicle, in particular for a front part of the motor vehicle, includes a bumper crossbeam and a deformation element arranged in front of the bumper crossbeam. The deformation element has a bending section, the end of which is in contact with a surface or which comes into contact with the surface in the event of a collision, in particular a front collision of the motor vehicle. The end of the bending section is designed such that it can move along the surface as a result of the collision, wherein the surface has an engaging device with which the end of the bending section can be, in particular, engaged.

A pedestrian protection device for a motor vehicle includes a bumper crossmember and a deformation element which is arranged on the bumper crossmember and which has a first element and a second element which are displaceable relative to each other in the event of a collision of the motor vehicle, and a mechanical locking mechanism. The locking mechanism has a movable locking element which is pretensionable or is pretensioned with a spring device and which is arranged on the first element or on the second element, and with a depression or step to which the other of the first element and the second element can be latched in a form-fitting manner. In the event of a high displacement speed which is greater than or equal to a predetermined second displacement speed, the locking mechanism prevents displacement of the first element relative to the second element by means of self-locking of the locking element. In the event of an average displacement speed which is lower than the predetermined second displacement speed and greater than a predetermined first displacement speed, the locking mechanism permits displacement of the first element and of the second element relative to each other.

A deformation structure has at least a first layer and a second layer, which are spaced apart from each other and displaceable relative to each other in the deformation direction or load direction. The first layer and the second layer have complementary protrusions and recesses, which are designed in such a way that the protrusions of the first layer can plunge into the recesses of the second layer and the protrusions of the second layer can plunge into the recesses of the first layer. The first layer and the second layer are connected to each other by deformable webs in such a way that, in the event of a high impulse in the deformation direction, the protrusions of the first layer plunge into the recesses of the second layer and the protrusions of the second layer plunge into the recesses of the first layer such that deformation of the deformation structure in the deformation direction occurs at a relatively low force level and, in the event of a low impulse in the deformation direction, the protrusions of the first layer hit the protrusions of the second layer such that further deformation of the deformation structure in the deformation direction occurs at a relatively high force level.

A pedestrian protection device for a motor vehicle, for example for a motor vehicle front end or a motor vehicle rear end, has a bumper crossmember with a deformation element arranged on the outer side thereof, i.e. the side directed towards the front. In particular, the deformation element is arranged between a bumper skin and the bumper crossmember. The deformation element has a first element and a second element which are displaceable relative to one another in the event of a collision. Furthermore, the pedestrian protection device has a locking mechanism which, in dependence on a displacement speed, and thus on a collision speed, of the motor vehicle, and while exploiting a mass inertia of a locking element which is arranged or mounted on the first element or the second element, is adjustable between a locked state in which a displacement of the first element relative to the second element is at least partially prevented by, in particular, positive engagement, and an unlocked state in which a displacement of the first element is allowed.

To improve the safety of passengers of a motor vehicle and road users in the case of a head-on collision, a deformation element is provided and includes a crossmember holder for mounting to a crossmember and a bumper plate that can be positioned next to a bumper of a motor vehicle. The deformation element is characterized in that a centrifugal force-operated release element for adjusting and locking the distance of the crossmember holder from the bumper plate is provided between the bumper plate and the crossmember holder. A first distance of the bumper plate from the crossmember holder, starting from a normal position, is greater in a first position than a distance in a second position.
