Methods and systems provide for the ability to display reactions within a video communication session. First, the system displays, for each of a number of participants within a video communication session, a user interface (UI), with the UI including a reactions session with a variety of selectable visual reactions, a number of participant windows corresponding to participants, and videos of at least a subset of the participants which are displayed within the participant windows. The system receives a selection of a reaction via a video client device connected to the video communication session, where the client device is associated with one of the participants. The system then displays the selected reaction within the UI of at least one of the participants within the corresponding participant windows for a predetermined period of time. Aggregate reactions may be displayed when a number of participants select the same reaction.

Shared group reactions within a video communication session

Methods and systems provide for a spatial chat view dashboard within a messaging platform. A system displays, at a client device, a dashboard user interface for a messaging platform, consisting of at least a dashboard virtual background and one or more spatial chat rooms. Each of the spatial chat rooms is a spatial representation of a chat session associated with a number of participants. The system receives, from the client device, a selection of a spatial chat room from the one or more spatial chat rooms. The system then displays a spatial chat user interface comprising the selected spatial chat room.

Systems and methods for enhancing group sound during a networked conference are provided. A server computer establishes a networked conference among a plurality of computer devices. The server computer receives one or more group sound indicators from one or more computer devices of the plurality of computer devices within a selected time interval. In response to determining that the total number of the one or more computer devices corresponding to the one or more group sound indicators is equal to or greater than a selected threshold, the server computer transmits to the plurality of computer devices a control signal identifying a group sound corresponding to the one or more group sound indicators. The server computer causes the plurality of computer devices to reproduce the group sound identified in the control signal.

Dynamic adjustment of audio characteristics for enhancing musical sound during a networked conference is disclosed. In an embodiment, a method is provided for sound enhancement performed by a device coupled to a network. The method includes receiving an audio signal to be transmitted over the network, detecting when musical content is present in the audio signal, processing the audio signal to enhance voice characteristics to generate an enhanced audio signal when the musical content is not detected, processing the audio signal to enhance music characteristic to generate the enhanced audio signal when the musical content is detected, and transmitting the enhanced audio signal over the network.

Enhancing musical sound during a networked conference

Methods and systems provide for a spatial chat view within a messaging platform. First, the system displays, for a number of participants within a messaging session, a user interface consisting of: a virtual background; one or more spatialized avatars representing the participants overlaid on the virtual background; and a message composing component. The system displays, adjacent to each of a subset of the spatialized avatars, one or more chat bubbles corresponding to messages sent by one or more of the participants represented by the subset of the spatialized avatars. Concurrently or subsequently, the system determines an availability status for each of the plurality of participants, and then displays, within or adjacent to each of the spatialized avatars, a visual indicator of the availability status of the participant represented by the spatialized avatar.

Methods and systems provide for a spatialized display of chat messages within a messaging platform. First, the system displays, for each of a number of participants within a messaging session, a spatial chat user interface (hereinafter 'UI') consisting of: a virtual background; and one or more spatialized avatars representing the participants. The system receives initial chat messages sent by a participant from the plurality of participants, then displays, adjacent to each of a subset of the spatialized avatars, one or more initial chat bubbles corresponding to messages sent by one or more of the participants represented by the subset of the spatialized avatars. Concurrently or subsequently, the system displays one or more other participant chat bubbles. The system receives additional chat messages sent by the participant, and then displays the additional chat bubbles, repositioning the initial chat bubbles while the additional chat bubbles are displayed in their place.

Enhancing group sound during a networked conference is disclosed. In an embodiment, a method includes generating an audio signal at a user equipment (UE), detecting a group sound in the audio signal, generating a group sound indicator that identifies the detected group sound, and transmitting the group sound indicator to a network server. The method also includes receiving, from the network server, a control signal that identifies a selected group sound, and reproducing, at the UE, the selected group sound identified by the control signal.

Methods and apparatus for enhancing group sound reactions during a networked conference

A data stream from an internal endpoint of a video conference participant is received at an enterprise media processing node. The internal endpoint is accessible to the enterprise media processing node behind a firewall on an enterprise network. The received data stream is translated and transcoded into a predefined common communication protocol. A data stream in the common communication protocol is received at an external media processing node using a firewall friendly protocol to traverse the firewall from an external endpoint. The external endpoint communicates with the external media processing node outside the enterprise network. A composite data stream of the received data streams from endpoints within the enterprise network and outside the enterprise network is selectively generated, and sent to the internal endpoint.

Provision of video conferencing services using a micro pop to extend media processing into enterprise networks

Embodiments are described for provision of video conference services. In some embodiments, a service connector module of a video conference system receives a request to switch a participant user of a video conference to a communication mode for the video conference received at a participant endpoint device, the request to switch is (a) a request to switch from an unidirectional communication mode to a bidirectional communication mode, or (b) a request to switch from the bidirectional communication mode to the unidirectional communication mode, determining information on at least one distribution capability from one or more interactions with the participant endpoint device, determines a distribution scheme for the communication mode using the at least one distribution capability, sends a request to establish a connection with the endpoint device using the distribution scheme, receives a notification on establishment of the connection, and sends a request to terminate a prior connection.
