In one respect, a method of controlling a movable barrier operator including receiving, via communication circuitry of an in-vehicle device, a wireless signal indicating communication of a state change request to the movable barrier operator, the state change request configured to cause the movable barrier operator to move a movable barrier from a first state toward a second state; presenting, via a user interface of the in-vehicle device, a notification of the communication of the state change request and an option to cancel the state change request; receiving, via the user interface of the in-vehicle device, a user input to cancel the state change request; and effecting cancelation of the state change request in response to the user interface receiving the user input to the cancel the state change operation.

System and methods for controlling a movable barrier operator

In one aspect, a method is provided of effecting secure communications for a movable barrier operator and a trainable transmitter. The method includes, at the movable barrier operator, transmitting to a remote control a first radio frequency communication via a first communication protocol wherein the first radio frequency communication includes an access code. The method further includes receiving from the trainable transmitter a second radio frequency communication via a second communication protocol. The second radio frequency communication includes a derived access code based at least in part upon the access code. The method further includes learning the trainable transmitter in response to the derived access code corresponding to the access code.

In one aspect of the present disclosure, a system and method are provided for pairing a network-enabled movable barrier operator with a transmitter. The method may include receiving a pairing request, retrieving a hashed version of the transmitter fixed code, verifying access authorization, and forwarding the hashed version of the transmitter fixed code to a movable barrier operator to allow the movable barrier operator to determine whether a new transmitter is authorized to control the movable barrier operator.

In accordance with one aspect of the disclosure, an apparatus is provided that includes a database configured to store one or more vehicle status parameters of a vehicle and one or more secured space status parameters of a secured space. The apparatus further includes a server-based processor operatively coupled or connected to the database and configured to receive one or more of the one or more vehicle status parameters and one or more of the one or more secured space status parameters. The server-based processor is further configured to determine, based on at least one of the one or more vehicle status parameters and at least one of the one or more secured space status parameters whether to change a state of the vehicle.
