There is provided a boat () including a hull (), and two engines () couplable to rotationally drive mutually spaced separate corresponding propeller assemblies for providing thrusts. Directions of the thrusts are angularly adjustable (&#x3b1;, &#x3b1;) relative to the hull (). A control unit () receives first and second user commands (S, S) and sends corresponding signals for controlling powers (P, P) coupled from the engines () to their propeller assemblies. The control unit () determines a difference in power (&#x394;P) to be coupled to the propeller assemblies as a function of the first and second user commands (S, S). The control unit () controls coupling of power (P, P) to the propeller assemblies so that the propeller assemblies develop a difference in thrust which is a function of the difference in power (&#x394;P). The control unit () adjusts angles (&#x3b1;, &#x3b1;) of the directions of thrusts as a function of the difference in power (&#x394;P) to assist the difference in power (&#x394;P) coupled to the propeller assemblies to enhance maneuverability of the vessel ().

Method of steering aquatic vessels

An outboard drive for boats, having a steerable underwater housing () which has a wing-profiled portion (). Projecting at an approximately 90 degree angle from the aft part of one side face () of the wing profile is a face portion (), the lateral extent of which amounts to about 1&#x2013;2% of its distance to the steering shaft () of the wing profile. As a result of this construction, a lifting force will be generated during forward travel in the water. The face portion is configured on that side of the profile which produces a lifting force counter-directional to a steering force, deriving from the motor torque, upon the wing profile.

Outboard drive for boats

A rotatable propeller drive () for a boat, where the propeller drive () includes an upper fixing plate () adapted for rotationally fixed attachment to the hull bottom () of the boat. A lower underwater housing () is provided on which at least one propeller () is mounted, which underwater housing () is mounted rotatably in the fixing plate () about an essentially vertical axis of rotation (). An exhaust duct () is provided with an exhaust exit () located in the underwater housing (). The exhaust duct () has an upper duct section () which extends through the fixing plate () and has an outlet opening () located in proximity to an opposite inlet opening () in a lower duct section () which extends through the underwater housing (). One of the outlet opening () and inlet opening () overlaps the other at least within a limited first rotation angle range for the propeller drive (). A sliding seal arrangement () is adapted for sealing between the upper () and lower () duct sections, where the sliding seal arrangement () includes a sealing element () accommodated in a seat () around one of the outlet opening () and inlet opening (). The sealing element () has a contact surface () for sliding contact with an opposite sliding seal surface () around the other of the outlet opening () and inlet opening ().

Turning propeller drive for a boat

Boat propeller drive unit with an underwater housing ( ), which is solidly joined to a boat hull and has pulling propellers ( ) on the forward facing side of the housing. At the aft edge of the underwater housing, a rudder is mounted, comprising a first rudder blade ( ) mounted in the underwater housing and a second rudder blade ( ) mounted on the aft edge of the first rudder blade.

Drive means in a boat

Boat propeller transmission with a horizontal input shaft, a bevel gear set, a vertical intermediate shaft, an additional bevel gear set, and at least one horizontal propeller shaft. Between the bevel gear sets, a two-speed planetary gear set is engaged, to provide two gear speeds in the same direction between the input shaft and the propeller shaft. A control unit controls the shifting between the low and high gear speed. A sensor senses the position of a gear selector. When the gear selector is in the reverse position, the control unit locks the planetary gear set in the high speed position, regardless of the engine speed.

Boat propeller transmission

Boat propeller transmission with a horizontal input shaft, a bevel gear set, a vertical intermediate shaft, an additional bevel gear set, and at least one horizontal propeller shaft. Between the bevel gear sets, a two-speed planetary gear set is coupled, to provide two gear speeds in the same direction between the input shaft and the propeller shaft. The planetary gear set has a sun gear which can be locked against the housing of the planetary gear set with the aid of a one-way clutch.

A sealing ring seat disposed in a housing. The seat has an inner lateral surface, against which an external surface of an elastic outer ring of the sealing ring is intended to lie. The lateral surface of the seat has a peripheral groove with a sharp edge which secures the sealing ring against being pressed out of the seat when there is overpressure in the housing.

A control system for an engine transmission provided with a coupling mechanism for engaging or disengaging coupling of the transmission. The control system has one or more valves movable between two positions for controlling engagement and disengagement of the coupling mechanism. The valves are connected to an automatic control unit which has an intermittent signal supply trigger for supplying an intermittent pulsed signal to the valves, thereby providing an intermittent movement of the valves between the two positions.

Reversing gears for boats, comprising an angle gearing with two gears (4,5) rotatably mounted on a secondary shaft (8) and alternately lockable to the shaft by means of a clutch sleeve (11). The clutch sleeve consists of aluminum and has exterior coupling cones with surfaces (12,13), which are oxidized and impregnated with a fluoroplastic and are heat-treated. The rotatably mounted gears (4,5) have interior coupling cones (14,15) of tempered steel.

Propeller arrangement for a marine propulsion unit

A reverse gear for boats, comprising a bevel gear transmission with two gears (4,5) rotatably mounted on a secondary shaft (8) and alternately engageable with the shaft by means of an engaging sleeve (11). The engaging sleeve is made of bronze and has outer engaging cones (12,13), which are coated with a surface layer of molybdenum. The rotatably mounted gears (4,5) have inner engaging cones (14,15) of case hardened steel. The molybdenum layer need be only about 0.1 mm thick and, contrary to molybdenum coatings on steel inner engaging cones of the prior art, need not be worked after deposition.

Transmission device, especially a reverse gear for boats

Transmission, especially for boat motors, with a shift mechanism in which an amplification of the clutch force is achieved by threaded engagement of the gear-engaging sleeve with the associated shaft. The transmission has shock and oscillation absorbers built into the housing, comprising a pair of sets of cup springs which can be disposed between said shaft and the gears to provide limited axial displacement of the shaft relative to the gears against the force of the springs when the sleeve is rotated relative to the shaft.
