The present invention describes a method and device for pretreatment of organic material, more specific bio mass, for energy conversion, where said method comprises a first preheating step with a preheating vessel (), a hydrolysis step with a hydrolysis reactor () and a pressure reducing step with a pressure reduction vessel (), where the transfer of said organic material from the preheating vessel () to the hydrolysis rector () is effected by gravity and by creating a vacuum in the reactor (). This method results in a very fast transfer of material from the preheating vessel () to the reactor (). In addition, the filling volume of the reactor () is being controlled by a high frequency pressure sensor and supply of steam (A) to the top of the reactor in order to provide the necessary head space. The invention also describes a device for performing said method.

Method and device for pretreatment of biomass for conversion to energy

It is described a process for thermal hydrolysis and team explosion of biomass, said method comprising the steps of: (i) leading the biomass approximately continuous to a first preheating step and preheat the biomass, (ii) leading the preheated biomass into at least two reactors sequentially, (iii) heating and pressurising the reactor by addition of steam, (iv) keeping the reactor(s) at a certain temperature and pressure for a certain time, (v) leading the heated and pressurized biomass from the reactor(s) to a first pressure relief tank without any substantial pressure reduction and quickly relief the pressure of the biomass by means of a nozzle, in order to disintegrate the biomass, (vi) leading the biomass from the first pressure relief tank to a second pressure relief tank having a lower pressure than the pressure of the first pressure relief tank, (vii) leading the so treated biomass to a downstream facility for subsequent treatment. The invention also comprises a device for thermal treatment of biomass.

Method and device for thermal hydrolysis and steam explosion of biomass

A method for production of fuel pellets from a biological material, preferably saw dust, wood or similar, where the method comprises the following steps: supplying the material to a drying step () and dry the material to a relative humidity from 40-65 weight-percent to 30-45 weight-percent; supplying the material from the dryer step (), optionally via an intermediate storage step (), to a reactor step (') and heat the material to 200-300&#xb0; C. by supply of steam; keeping the material in the reactor at the achieved temperature in sufficient time to soften the material; reducing the pressure of the reactor step (&#x2032;) in at least two steps, in order to defibrate the material and release of lignin, and supply the material from the reactor step (&#x2032;) to an additional drying step (), optionally via an intermediate storage step (), and optionally pelletizing of the material.

Process for producing fuel pellets

A method of and an arrangement for continuous hydrolysis of organic material in the form of sludge with a dry solids content of 1-20%. A sludge containing the organic material with a low content of abrasive components and a dry solids content of 1-20% is heated to a temperature of approximately 100&#xb0; C. The sludge is mixed with steam at a pressure of 1-4 bars. The sludge/steam mixture is lead to a preheating tank. The pressure of the sludge/steam mixture is increased from 3 to 10 bars. The sludge-steam mixture is lead to a reactor. A depressurizing tank depressurizes the sludge/steam mixture to 1-4 bars. The sludge and steam are separated and may be cooled.

Fire extinguishing plant for three extinguishing agents, water, powder-mixed water and heavy foam, comprising water supply conduits (4, 5, 6) from a source of pressurized water to a number of spraying nozzles (2, 3), and wherein there to the water supply conduits (4, 5, 6) being provided an inlet (7) for admixing foam agent. Moreover, to each nozzle (2, 3) therein being provided supply conduits (9, 10, 11) for a non-combustible gas, siad conduits having a device (13) for admixing fire extinguishing powder into the gas. The supply conduits for the non-combustible gas have a non-return valve (28) adjacent the outlet; there being provided a bypass conduit (14) in the gas supply conduit past the device (13) for the admixing of powder. An arrangement in spraying nozzles for use in the plant comprises a preferably circular housing (15), on end of which is closed, the other end thereof being open and having a radially extending annular flange (32). At the open end, there being provided a disc-shaped valve plate (18) having radial grooves (30) in the inner surface, corresponding to likewise radial grooves (31) in the outer surface of the flange (32). The valve plate (18) has a valve stem (19) which is fastened adjustably in the axial direction in the rear end of the housing (15). The valve stem (19) has a blind bore (26) from its inner end, adapted for connection of the supply conduit for gas-carried powder. In the wall of the blind bore there being provided a number of radial holes (27) equipped with non-return valve (28).

Fire extinguishing plant for three extinguishing agents

Liquid fuel is distributed in a fluidized bed of refractory particles through the gas constriction plate of a fluidized bed incinerator. The fuel is supplied from a distribution system of circulation pipes situated well below the constriction plate and passed to the fluidized bed through risers by means of a small amount of driving agent, preferably steam, of high pressure supplied from a separate distribution system independently of the primary combustion air and the fluidizing gas. The driving agent and the fuel are passed into the risers through nozzles at the lower end of the risers.
