A pipe-gripper includes an elongated housing. The pipe gripper further includes a rotor positioned within the elongated housing. The rotor has a periphery and a longitudinal groove extending axially therethrough. The longitudinal groove has an inside face and a groove mouth, The groove mouth has width A. In addition, the pipe gripper includes a toothed rim, the toothed rim positioned on the periphery of the rotor and interrupted by the longitudinal groove. Further, the pipe gripper includes a clamp assembly. The clamp assembly includes at least one clamp and positioned within the rotor. The pipe-gripper also includes a rotor drive, the rotor drive positioned within the elongated housing. In addition, the pipe gripper includes a transmission assembly, the transmission assembly in engagement with the rotor drive at toothed rim engagement points, the distance between toothed rim engagement points being distance B, distance B being larger than distance A.

Pipe handling unit

A feeding device is for a rotatable downhole tool. The feeding device is provided with several feeding wheels lying in a plane which is slanted relative to a plane which is perpendicular to the center axis of the downhole tool. A method is for feeding a downhole tool axially by the use of the feeding device, when working a portion of a surrounding pipe body.

A pipe-handling system includes at least two pipe-handling units arranged in a vertically displaceable manner along respective guide tracks of, respectively, first and second portions of a tower. The pipe-handling unit is provided with lower and upper rotary units spaced apart vertically on a chassis. Each of the rotary units is provided with a rotatable tong and a hanging-off device. A method is for inserting and withdrawing a pipe string in/from a borehole by the use of the pipe-handling system.

A circulation unit and an arrangement are arranged to continuously circulate drilling fluid during drilling. A housing is provided with a center bore arranged to accommodate a portion of a pipe. The center bore includes upper and lower sealing elements. The sealing elements are provided with center openings which, by the expansion of said sealing elements, are closable or fit tightly against the pipe by the abutment of an inner sealing surface against the pipe. Each of the sealing elements is connected in a fluid-tight manner to a packing pipe which is located in the housing and which is rotatable around the center axis of the center bore. The packing pipe is surrounded by a packing assembly fitting tightly between the periphery of the packing pipe and the housing.

Continuous drilling fluid circulation unit and arrangement

A circulation unit is for an arrangement arranged to continuously circulate drilling fluid during drilling. A housing is provided with a center bore which is defined by upper and lower annular sealing elements which are rotatably supported in the housing. The sealing elements are provided with a center opening which, by the expansion of said sealing elements, is closable or fits tightly against a pipe. A gate valve in a closed state forms a fluid-tight partition between upper and lower chambers in the housing. Each of the sealing elements is connected in a fluid-tight manner to a rotatable packer pipe surrounded by a packer assembly that fits tightly against the circumference of the packer pipe and against the housing. An arrangement is for the continuous circulation of drilling fluid during drilling, including as circulation unit arranged between upper and lower rotary units.

A device is for a drilling rig for forming of a bore hole in a subterranean structure. The drilling rig comprises a first, top driven drilling machine arranged vertically displaceable along a guide track, where a second drilling machine is arranged between the first drilling machine and the bore hole, vertically displaceable along a guide track and provided with a rotary table arranged to be able to take the weight of a pipe string. A rotary drive unit is arranged for continuous rotation of the pipe string. A fluid chamber is arranged to, in a fluid communicating way, be able to connect a pipe string end portion with a drilling liquid plant. As the fluid chamber is provided with pipe string ports comprising means arranged to, in a fluid sealing way, be able to close the pipe string ports. A power tong is arranged for continuous rotation of an element connected to the pipe string, as the power tong is arranged in the fluid chamber. Also, a method is for drilling with continuous tool rotation and continuous drilling liquid supply.

A rotary table device is provided with means arranged for suspension of a pipe string. The rotary table comprises a rotary ring arranged rotatably about the central axis of the rotary table. The rotary ring is formed by two or more ring sections, each connected to a system comprising a bearing housing section rotatable relative to a base section, a bearing housing groove being formed in a base contact surface on the bearing housing section and a corresponding base groove being formed in an opposing bearing housing surface in the base section. The grooves form a curve-shaped track for a roller body and the groove has a curvature center coinciding with the central axis of the rotary table. The rolling diameter of the roller body exceeds the collective depth of said grooves, and a channel connecting the end portions of the bearing housing groove is formed in the bearing housing section.

Rotary table device for a pipe string

A device is for vertical tool guiding for a drill floor. On the drill floor is arranged at least one rig. Each rig is arranged on a rig foundation supported on the drill floor rotatably about a first, vertical axis (A) and arranged to be able to displace a tool in a horizontal working sector (S, S, S) that in a vertical projection at least touches or cuts through the central axis (C) in a through drill floor opening. Each rig is provided with a vertical guide track.
