The present disclosure relates to an image display apparatus and an operating method thereof. The image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a display; a network interface unit that performs communication through a network; and a controller, wherein the controller checks an expected end time of content output through the display, obtains frame data for a screen output through the display at a first time point prior to a preset time from the expected end time, calculates an actual end time point of the content based on the obtained frame data, and outputs a user interface (UI) recommending at least one product related to the content, at the calculated actual end time point, through the display.
