Systems and methods may be used to implement twinned or linked digital avatars as an edge avatar and a cloud avatar for a particular physical device in an industrial site. The edge avatar is configured to ingest data generated in the industrial site and to use a model for the particular physical device to obtain device-specific parameters related to the particular physical device. The edge avatar also sends information related to the device-specific parameters to a cloud avatar that is linked to the edge avatar. The cloud avatar is implemented in a cloud network away from the industrial site. The edge avatar is also configured to receive updates from the cloud avatar for the edge avatar and to refine the edge avatar using the updates.

A system can include an interface to receive sensed data and economic data; a production control framework that includes a module for modeling motor efficiency of an electric submersible pump, a module for modeling gas composition of a fluid being pumped by an electric submersible pump, a module for modeling solid dynamics in a fluid being pumped by an electric submersible pump, a module to update one or more of the modules for modeling in response to receipt of data via the interface; and an interface to output control commands to a controller for an electric submersible pump based at least in part on data received by the interface and analyzed by the production control framework. Submersible pump control

A subsea power distribution system includes a three-phase AC power source; multiple variable frequency drives having inputs and outputs, with their inputs connected to the AC power source; an electric motor connected in series to the output of each variable frequency drive; and a passive harmonic filter system having its input connected, in parallel with the variable frequency drives, to the AC power source. The filter system includes multiple harmonic filters, each harmonic filter tuned to a specific harmonic frequency. Each harmonic filter includes a plurality of sub-filters. Each sub-filter includes a reactor connected in series to a main capacitor and one or more detuning capacitors. Each of the multiple harmonic filters is tuned to a different specific harmonic, and includes sub-filters also tuned to the same respective harmonic, and each sub-filter is sized to equally share the kVAR load of its respective harmonic filter.

A fail-safe motorized switching system includes: (a) a motorized loadbreak switch system, the motorized loadbreak switch system adapted for opening and closing contacts between a high voltage power source and a load; (b) an energy storage device connected to the motorized loadbreak switch system; and (c) a controller connected to the energy storage device, the controller programmed with control logic to ensure that the motorized loadbreak switch system opens the contacts between the high voltage power source and the load once the power source is removed.

A variable frequency drive system for controlling the frequency of a high-voltage power source supplied to a first electric motor includes a transformer section that includes a motorized loadbreak switch system, control power transformers, a controller programmed with control logic to ensure that the motorized loadbreak switch system opens contacts between the high-voltage power source and the variable frequency drive system once the power source is removed, and a tank containing a dielectric fluid, wherein the tank also contains, within the dielectric fluid, a manual isolation switch to supply or remove power to the transformer section, an impedance for use in soft-starting the variable frequency drive system, a primary winding, and a plurality of phase-shifted secondary windings.
