A method of manufacturing a curved liquid crystal display is provided. The method includes forming a first display panel including a plurality of first patterns, forming a second display panel including a plurality of second patterns, assembling the first display panel and the second display panel, filling a liquid crystal between the assembled first and second display panels to form a flat liquid crystal display, and curving the flat liquid crystal display in a first direction to form the curved liquid crystal display. The first patterns and the second patterns are mismatched in the flat liquid crystal display, and the first patterns and the second patterns are matched in the curved liquid crystal display.

Curved liquid crystal display device and method of manufacturing the same

A scan driver has a plurality of stages configured to supply a scan signal to scan lines. The plurality of stages include a stage coupled to a scan line of the scan lines. The stage includes a first transistor including a gate electrode, a drain electrode and a source electrode and is configured to output the scan signal to the scan line; a second transistor provided on a side of the first transistor and connected to the drain electrode; a third transistor provided on the side of the first transistor and connected to the source electrode; a capacitor provided between the scan line and the first transistor; a first dummy transistor provided between the first transistor and the capacitor and connected to the capacitor; and a second dummy transistor provided between the first transistor and the second transistor and connected to both the first transistor and the second transistor.

A curved liquid crystal display includes a first panel having a pixel electrode including crossed stem parts, a plurality of fine branch parts extending from the crossed stem parts, and fine slits positioned between fine branch parts adjacent to each other, a second panel having a common electrode, and a liquid crystal layer between the first panel and the second panel. Misalignment between the first panel and the second lower panel is determined and a pitch, which is a sum of a width of the fine branch part and a width of the fine slit, gradually increases from a region having a small misalignment toward a region having a large misalignment.

A liquid crystal display device includes a display area, a peripheral area, and a boundary area between the display area and the peripheral area and further includes: a first substrate; a switching element disposed on the first substrate in the display area; a pad disposed on the first substrate in the peripheral area and electrically connected with the switching element; a protective film disposed on the first substrate in the display area, the peripheral area, and the boundary area, and covering the switching element and the pad; a color filter disposed on the protective film in the display area; and a planarization film covering the color filter and contacting the protective film in the boundary area and the peripheral area. The planarization film is provided with a first opening overlapping the pad and at least one second opening formed in the boundary area.

A display device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present inventive concept includes: a first insulation substrate; a thin film transistor disposed on the first insulation substrate; a pixel electrode coupled to the thin film transistor; a second insulation substrate facing the first insulation substrate; and a common electrode disposed on the second insulation substrate. The pixel electrode includes a first subpixel electrode including a first vertical stem portion and a first horizontal stem portion that is disposed perpendicular to the first vertical stem portion at an end of the first vertical stem portion, and a second subpixel electrode including a second vertical stem portion and a second horizontal stem portion that is disposed perpendicular to the second vertical stem portion at an end of the second vertical step portion.

A liquid crystal display according to an exemplary embodiment includes a display substrate including a display area for displaying an image and a non-display area enclosing the display area; a plurality of normal pixels formed in an edge region among a center region of the display area and a peripheral area of the display area, and a plurality of corner pixels formed in a corner region of the peripheral area of the display area; and a sealant formed in the non-display area. A corner pixel of the plurality of corner pixels and the sealant are separated from each other.

The pixel electrode includes a first subpixel electrode including a first horizontal stem portion and a first vertical stem portion perpendicular thereto at one end of the first horizontal stem portion and a second subpixel electrode including a second vertical stem portion and a second horizontal stem portion perpendicular thereto at one end of the second horizontal stem portion, a plurality of regions in which arrangements of liquid crystal molecules are respectively different are divided by the first horizontal stem portion, the first vertical stem portion, the second horizontal stem portion, and the second vertical stem portion, and each of the plurality of regions has a longest vertical length of less than about 100 &#x3bc;m.

A liquid crystal display according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a first substrate; a gate line formed on the first substrate and extended in a first direction; a data line extended in a second direction that is perpendicular to the gate line; switching elements connected to the gate line and the data line; a voltage-dividing reference voltage line connected to a switching element; a first sub-pixel electrode connected to a switching element; and a second sub-pixel electrode connected to a switching element, wherein the first sub-pixel electrode and the second sub-pixel electrode include one or more vertical stem parts formed on a left side or a right side thereof, and the voltage-dividing reference voltage line is formed to be parallel to the data line.

A liquid crystal display device includes a display panel including: a lower display substrate on which a plurality of pixel electrodes are disposed in a matrix and data lines extend in a column direction between adjacent pixel electrodes; an upper display substrate on which a common electrode is disposed; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the lower display substrate and the upper display substrate and including liquid crystal molecules. The display panel includes a plurality of unit pixels, each unit pixel including pixels having different colors, and each pixel including one of the pixel electrodes. A gap between neighboring unit pixels is larger than a gap between neighboring pixel electrodes within each unit pixel, and a data line positioned between the neighboring unit pixels has a portion having a width larger than that of a data line positioned between the neighboring pixel electrodes within each unit pixel.

An exemplary embodiment provides a curved display device in which occurrences of black mura are prevented or otherwise reduced. The curved display device according to the exemplary embodiment includes a curved display panel displaying images; a rear surface cover covering and supporting a rear surface of the curved display panel; and a flexible front surface chassis supporting the curved display panel.

A display device according to an exemplary embodiment includes: a first insulation substrate; a thin film transistor disposed on the first insulation substrate; and a pixel electrode coupled to the thin film transistor. The pixel electrode includes a first subpixel electrode that is divided into two regions configured to arrange liquid crystal molecules while including one first horizontal stem portion, and a second subpixel electrode that includes a plurality of second horizontal stem portions.
