A filter element for filtering a fluid flowing through the filter element. The filter element includes a pleat pack that extends about an axis and that has an internal volume. The pleat pack includes a filter media for filtering out particulate from the fluid. The filter media is pleated. The pleats extend out along planes that are transverse to the axis. An associated method of providing a filter element that filters a fluid flowing through the filter element is provided.

Radial pleat design and collapsible filter element

Composite membrane materials and process for their production. The process entails the use of at least first and second porous membranes formed of a polymeric material and at least a third porous membrane formed of the same polymeric material, but having larger pores than the first and second porous membranes. The first, second and third porous membranes are laminated together by applying heat and pressure to the first, second and third porous membranes without applying a separate adhesive material therebetween. The laminated first, second and third porous membranes form a composite membrane in which the third porous membrane is between the first and second porous membranes.

Multi-layer composite membrane materials and methods therefor

An article comprising a microporous membrane. A first porous fabric is laminated to a first side of the microporous membrane. A second porous fabric is laminated to a second opposite side of the microporous membrane to form a laminate with the membrane and the first porous fabric. The laminate has two fabric sides separated by the microporous membrane. A treatment material is applied to the laminate to form a treated laminate. The treated laminate has an oil resistance of at least a number 7 determined by AATCC 118 testing on both fabric sides and has an air permeability through the treated laminate of at least 0.01 CFM per square foot determined by ASTM D737 testing.

Oleophobic laminated article

A method of manufacturing a fiber-reinforced article. The method includes the steps of providing a mat fiber structure defining voids therein. A membrane structure is applied over at least a portion of the fiber structure. The membrane structure includes a microporous membrane. At least the microporous membrane of the membrane structure has an oil resistance rating of at least a number 8 determined by AATCC 118 testing. A resin and hardener mix is provided. The resin is infused into voids of the fiber structure by applying a vacuum to the fiber structure and the membrane structure wherein the membrane structure inhibits the flow of resin therethrough.

Membrane structure for vacuum assisted molding fiber reinforced article

A layered filter membrane with improved anti-clogging characteristics is provided. In one embodiment, a filter membrane includes multiple polymer layers, each with different pore diameters formed by stretching the polymer layers. Furthermore, the multiple filter layers are coupled together before being stretched and the different pore sizes are formed during co-stretching of the filter layers.
