An apparatus for dermal treatment of an active substance having certain physical properties having a flexible, wearable patch conformable to the contour of a skin surface and having: a first electrode adapted to communicate the active substance into the skin by application of an electrical current on the skin surface, a second electrode capable of closing an electrical circuit with the skin surface, a power source for providing a current and voltage connected through a conductive media to the first and second electrode, and an apparatus for substantially controlling penetration depth of the active substance by selecting at least one variable from a plurality of variables.

Device and method for controlled delivery of active substance into the skin

The present invention provides a device and kit and method of use thereof for wound treatment of a subject. The device may include an electrically operated patch or other means of delivery of electrical current and a connected moist surface. Optionally, the device may include a composition comprising an active substance useful in wound treatment. Preferably, the means of delivery of electrical current includes a power source and a plurality of electrodes disposed in a suitable conformation on a base substrate layer, which readily facilitates electrical contact with the body area of the subject. Preferably, the kit may include a means of delivery of electrical current and a moist surface provided as separate components. The present invention further provides a thin and flexible device for galvanic treatment to treat wounds with electrical stimulation. Preferably, the device is made using a printing technique.

An adhesive bandage is provided. The adhesive bandage includes: (a) an absorbent pad having an absorbent surface; (b) an adhesive tape attached to the absorbent pad, the adhesive tape being configured for attaching to a skin region so as to position the absorbent surface against a portion of the skin region; (c) a display being positioned on an outer surface of the adhesive bandage the display being configured and positioned so as to be viewable by an individual when the adhesive tape is attached to the skin region; and (d) a power source attached to or integrated with the adhesive tape, the power source being for powering the display, the display being for increasing an acceptability of use of the adhesive bandage by the individual when powered. Furthermore, the present invention provides an adhesive bandage with a display, the display being for displaying a skin condition value and for increasing an acceptability of use of the adhesive bandage by the individual when powered.

Methods, apparatus, and kits for onychomycosis treatment are presented. In one embodiment, a kit for treatment includes an anti-fungal agent, in a composition, and an electrically powered patch. Exemplary embodiments of the patch include a first electrode, a power source having a first and second terminal, a second electrode coupled to the second terminal of the power source, and a base member supporting the first electrode, the second electrode, and the power source. Embodiments include those where the first and second electrode and power source are printed on the base member. Anti-fungal agents may be unionized while the composition includes an ionizing agent. Home use may be practiced, as embodiments include those in which the voltage or current of the power source cannot be adjusted by a user. Exemplary methods include the selection of a nail or diseased area to which treatment is desired and administering the kit as described.

Method, apparatus, and kit for onychomycosis treatment

A kit, device and method for delivering an oxidizing agent onto and/or into the body are disclosed. Moreover, a dermal patch device, which delivers an oxidizing agent using iontophoresis and or electroosmosis onto and/or into the body is disclosed. Furthermore, use of a dermal patch device for treatment of a body area with an oxidizing agent is disclosed. The device may be a thin and flexible dermal patch. A method of using such a device/kit for treatment of a disorder of a body area with an oxidizing agent is also disclosed.
