The present disclosure relates to textile care agents and to optically clear and transparent fabric softener formulations which also have a viscous consistency, containing a combination of special ester quats with nonionic emulsifiers and cationic thickeners, to the use of said textile care agents and fabric softener formulations. The present disclosure also relates to a method for washing textiles using said textile care agent and fabric softener formulations. The present disclosure relates to methods for producing the special ester quats, to the thus resulting ester quats and to the use thereof.

Transparent textile care agent

The invention relates to transparent softening agents containing: (a) ester quaternaries, which are obtained by reacting alkanolamines with a mixture consisting of fatty acids and of dicarboxylic acids, whereby the resulting esters are optionally alkoxylated and subsequently quaternized in a known manner, and containing; (b) auxiliary agents selected from the group formed by: (b1) fatty acid amidoamines and/or quaternization products thereof; (b2) betaines; (b3) nonionic surfactants; (b4) polyols and/or derivatives thereof; (b5) alcohols and/or; (b6) hydrotropes.

Transparent softening agents

Quaternary surfactants of the formula (I), wherein RCO is a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, optionally hydroxy-functionalized acyl radical having 6 to 22 carbon atoms and 0, 1, 2 or 3 double bonds, Ris a CHCOOH radical, an alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a CHCHOH or a CHCHOCHCHOH group, and X is halide, alkyl sulfate, alkyl carbonate or alkyl phosphate, are useful as surfactants in cosmetic and pharmaceutical preparations. Aqueous solutions above 50% by weight of the surfactants are flowable and pumpable.

Quaternary surfactant concentrates

Detergent mixtures comprising (a) an oligomeric esterquat which is the product of the process which comprises reacting a mixture of a mono-carboxylic acid and a dicarboxylic acid with an alkanolamine to form an alkanolamine oligoester and reacting the alkanolamine oligoester with an alkylating agent and (b) the product of the process which comprises reacting an alkylene oxide and a fatty acid amidoamine, wherein the weight ratio of components (a) to (b) is from about 10:90 to about 90:10; and wherein the oligomeric esterquat has at least two cationic centers.

Detergent mixtures containing oligomeric esterquats

A surfactant composition containing: (a) from 2 to 20% by weight of a betaine having a fatty residue containing exactly 12 carbon atoms; (b) from 3 to 18% by weight of an alkyl and/or alkenyl oligoglycoside; and (c) from 15 to 35% by weight of a fatty alcohol ether sulfate, all weights being based on the weight of the composition.
