A parking assembly includes a parking gear in a rotary member included in the first power transmission that transmits power between a rotary electric machine and wheels and movable with the wheels, an engagement member selectively engageable with the parking gear, and a second power transmission that transmits power to the engagement member. The parking gear is coaxial with the rotary electric machine. A reservoir and the second power transmission are located above the first power transmission. An area of the reservoir in a front-rear direction, an area of the first power transmission in the front-rear direction, and an area of the second power transmission in the front-rear direction overlap an area of the rotary electric machine in the front-rear direction.

A vehicle drive device includes an axial oil guide passage that receives oil splashed by a differential input gear and dropping from a meshing portion between the differential input gear and a second counter gear and guides the oil in an axial direction along a third axis to a tooth surface of a first counter gear.

A vehicle drive device includes: a rotation electric machine; a power transmission mechanism; a drive device; an accommodating member in which a first accommodating chamber which accommodates the rotation electric machine, a second accommodating chamber which accommodates the power transmission mechanism, and a third accommodating chamber which accommodates the drive device are formed, and in which a first partition wall portion which partitions the first accommodating chamber and the second accommodating chamber in an axial direction and a second partition wall portion which partitions the second accommodating chamber and the third accommodating chamber in a radial direction are formed; a rotation angle sensor provided in the first accommodating chamber and configured to acquire rotation angle information of the rotation electric machine; and a first interconnect electrically coupling the rotation angle sensor and the drive device.

A vehicle drive device includes a first catch tank that stores oil splashed by a differential input gear in response to a rotor rotating in a first rotation direction and stores oil splashed by a first counter gear in response to the rotor rotating in a second rotation direction reverse to the first rotation direction and a second catch tank that stores oil splashed by the first counter gear in response to the rotor rotating in the second rotation direction. The first catch tank and the second catch tank are aligned in a vertical direction and at least partially overlap each other when viewed in the vertical direction. At least a part of a breather chamber is disposed between the rotary electric machine and the inverter device in a width direction in an area in the up-down direction where both the rotary electric machine and the inverter device are disposed.

A vehicle drive apparatus includes: a rotary electric machine disposed on a first axis; a differential gear mechanism disposed on a second axis; an output member disposed on the second axis; an inverter device; and a case. The case is a single-piece case internally including: a first housing chamber housing the rotary electric machine; and a second housing chamber housing the inverter device and divided from the first housing chamber with a partition. At least a specified portion of the output member is housed in the first housing chamber. A location of the specified portion in an axial direction overlaps with the rotary electric machine. The partition is provided between the specified portion and the inverter device.

Vehicle drive apparatus

A vehicle drive device includes a rotary electric machine disposed on a first axis, an output member disposed on a second axis parallel to the first axis, an inverter device, a terminal block for electrically connecting a rotary electric machine-side bus bar and an inverter-side bus bar, and a case. The case includes a first housing chamber for housing the rotary electric machine MG, a second housing chamber for housing the inverter device, and a partition wall for separating the first housing chamber and the second housing chamber. A terminal block is disposed such that an arrangement area of the terminal block in an axial direction overlaps the rotary electric machine, and disposed so as to penetrate the partition wall in a radial direction of the output member.

A transmission mechanism is provided with an output gear drivingly coupled to at least one of a pair of output members and placed coaxially with the pair of output members. A direction in which a rotating electrical machine and an inverter device are arranged side by side in an axial view is defined as a first direction. A direction perpendicular to both an axial direction and the first direction is defined as a second direction. A first output member that is one of the pair of output members is placed between the rotating electrical machine and the inverter device in the first direction, at a position in the second direction where both the rotating electrical machine and the inverter device are placed. The output gear is placed in such a manner as to overlap each of the rotating electrical machine and the inverter device in the axial view.
