A cold and/or heat accumulator has a first heat exchanger and preferably a second heat exchanger. The first heat exchanger may, in particular, be provided to be perfused by a refrigerant while the second heat exchanger is preferably perfused by brine. The first heat exchanger and preferably also the second heat exchanger are engaged in a heat-exchanging relationship with carrier elements charged with a cold or heat storage medium and may, in particular, be formed by graphite strips.

Cold and/or heat accumulator

The invention relates to a heating and air-conditioning system () for a motor vehicle, in particular a utility vehicle, in order to heat or cool the inside of a motor vehicle during a journey and when the motor vehicle is stationary. The inside of the motor vehicle is divided into a front region and a back region, which can be heated and cooled separately, and comprises a front system () which is used to heat and cool the front region during a journey of the motor vehicle, a rear system () which is used to heat and cool the rear region during a journey of the motor vehicle and a stationary system () which is used to heat and to cool at least the rear region when the motor vehicle is stationary. According to the invention, the stationary system is integrated into the rear system. The invention further relates to a method for heating and air-conditioning a motor vehicle by means of a heating and air-conditioning system ().

Heating and air-conditioning system for a motor vehicle

A system with an internal combustion engine which has a heat transfer circuit, a fuel cell and a climate control unit which is accommodated in the heat transfer circuit of the internal combustion engine. The system has a heat transfer arrangement for transferring the exhaust heat of the fuel cell to the heat transfer circuit and a bypass for bridging a segment of the heat transfer circuit which runs through the internal combustion engine so that, in the bypassed operating state, an isolated circuit is formed. In stationary operation, this enables an optimized operating mode since the internal combustion engine is no longer heated and the exhaust heat of the fuel cell is fully available for heating purposes. The climate control unit can have a fuel cell and an arrangement for transferring the heat produced by the fuel cell to the vehicle interior has a fan unit by which an air flow can be produced for cooling the fuel cell and a heating unit which is powered by the fuel cell and by which the air flow for heating the vehicle interior can be additionally heated. For cooling or heating the interior of a motor vehicle, the system can have a cooling circuit with a compressor, a condenser, an expansion element, and a first evaporator and an APU or a fuel cell to electrically power the compressor, and a second cooling circuit a second evaporator, the second cooling circuit being connected to the first cooling circuit.

System with an internal combustion engine, a fuel cell and a climate control unit for heating and/or cooling the interior of a motor vehicle and process for the operation thereof

A system for heating and cooling the interior of a motor vehicle includes a first climate control device designed to heat or cool a front area of the interior, and a second climate control device designed to heat or cool a rear area of the interior. A first evaporator connectable to a first cooling agent circuit assigned to the first climate control device and a second evaporator is connectable to a second cooling agent circuit assigned to the second climate control device. The second evaporator is located in a latent storage in order to charge the latent storage with cold and the second climate control device contains a first heat exchanger designed to transfer the cold removed via a heat transfer medium circuit or the second cooling agent circuit from the latent storage for cooling the rear area of the interior by an air flow.

System for heating and cooling the interior of a motor vehicle

A device for climate control of a vehicle is provided which includes a coolant circuit in which coolant flows through a compressor, a condenser, and an evaporator; a heat transfer medium circuit in which heat transfer medium flows through a heat source and a heat exchanger; and a heat/cold reservoir in which the evaporator and the heat exchanger are located. The device of the present invention provides an improved and comparatively economical approach to climate control in the area of a driver's bed in a motor vehicle interior by, at least in part, using a heating/cooling surface for a driver's bed and/or vehicle interior wall, which is integrated into the heat transfer medium circuit such that the heat transfer medium can flow selectively through the heating/cooling surface, or the heat transfer medium which is conveyed by the heat source can flow through the heating/cooling surface.

Device for climate control of a driver's bed

A system for heating and cooling the interior of a motor vehicle includes a first climate control device designed to heat or cool the front area of the interior, and a second climate control device designed to heat or cool the rear area of the interior. A first evaporator is connectable to a cooling circuit assigned to the first climate control device and a second evaporator is connectable to a second cooling circuit assigned to the second climate control device. The second evaporator is located in a latent storage in order to charge the latent storage with cold and the second climate control device contains a first heat exchanger designed to transfer the cold removed via the heat transfer medium circuit or the second cooling agent circuit from the latent storage for cooling of the rear area of the interior by an air flow.

Device for removing the noxious and aromatic substances from an air flow

An air dehumidifier or drier, particularly for a motor vehicle, has an air guiding housing defining three parallel air flow paths, which are defined by a common main air chamber separating two laterally spaced apart secondary air chambers. A reactor containing an adsorbent is positioned between the secondary air chambers, the common main air chamber being defined between the reactors. Air-flow control elements are positioned in each of the main and secondary air chambers. The control elements are pivotal between two operating positions. In each position, one of the reactors is in adsorption operation (dehumidify air) while the other reactor is in desorption operation (reactor being dried or recharged). The desorption air directed to the reactor being dried is heated by a heat exchanger, which has an air passageway for exhausting the air used for drying the reactor. Thus, the desorption air directed to the reactor being dried is preheated using the energy from the exhausting air.

Device for drying air for motor vehicles

Apparatus for reducing the air moisture in a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. The apparatus has a housing which is connected to a supply air duct and a discharge air duct of the passenger compartment. In the housing, there is arranged a secondary air chamber and a main air chamber, following in the direction of flow to the passenger compartment. Arranged between the secondary air chamber and the main air chamber is an air-permeated wall element of hygroscopic material for dehumidifying the air. To ensure dehumidification, there is arranged a second secondary air chamber, which is separated from the main air chamber by a second air-permeated wall element of hygroscopic material. For controlling the air volume, in each air chamber there is arranged an air flow control element, such that, in a first position of the air flow control elements, an air flow entering the one secondary air chamber is ducted through the first wall element and, as a dried air flow, is fed via the main air chamber to the supply air duct of the passenger compartment and that an air flow ducted into the main air chamber as a desorption flow is directed through the second wall element and discharged through the other secondary air chamber. In a second position of the air flow control elements, the air ducting is changed correspondingly.

Air drying installation for motor vehicles

A process for heating the passenger compartment (10) in a motor vehicle, particularly an electric vehicle, having a heating device (12), which is supplied with an air current (40) extracted, via a waste-air duct (11), from the passenger compartment (10). The air current enters into the passenger compartment (10) from the heating device (12) via an intake-duct (13). In order to prevent internal misting of the vehicle's windows, even with a low heating capacity, at least one partial air current (40a), which is branched off from the air current (40) prior to entry into the passenger compartment (10), flows through a sorbent (15) such as zeolite or the like.

Process and apparatus for heating the passenger compartment of a motor

A device for heating a passenger compartment in a motor vehicle comprises a heating device for warming up an air current fed to the passenger compartment, and a sorption reactor with a sorbent such as zeolite or the like, through which at least part of the air current flows. In order to avoid misting of the vehicle windows after starting the motor vehicle, the sorptive capacity of the sorbent received in the sorption reactor is chosen such that it is adapted to the warm-up time of the heat exchanger in such a way that the air current flowing through the sorption reactor and fed directly to the passenger compartment can be dried in an uninterrupted adsorption operation until a predeterminable air-outlet temperature is reached at the heat exchanger.

Device and process for heating a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle

The invention relates to a method for the desorption of a sorbent by an air stream which is delivered by a blower and, prior to entering the sorbent, is heated. In order to reduce the desorption time, provision is made for adjusting the mass of the air stream as a function of the outlet temperature of the air stream exiting from the sorbent, in such a way that, when a preset temperature limit value is reached, the mass of the air stream is reduced, and the desorption is continued with an air stream heated to a higher temperature. The method is particularly suitable for the desorption of adsorbent in sorption reactors contained in refrigerant-free air conditioning plants.

Method and apparatus for the desorption of a material which adsorbs

An apparatus for heating and/or cooling a cabin, especially a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, a sleeping cabin of a truck, or the like. To the cabin there is respectively connected an intake-air duct and a waste-air duct. The apparatus includes a sorption reactor which is filled with zeolite, or the like, and through which an air-current flows via corresponding ducts. In the adsorption phase of the reactor, the air-current takes up adsorption heat and releases moisture. After being cooled down via a humidifier, the air-current cools the intake-air current to the cabin. In addition, a heating device is provided for heating up the air current for the desorption of the reactor, the heated air current being evacuated with the moisture taken up from the sorbent. In order to provide sufficient heating capacity, even at low external temperatures, without placing a load upon the sorption reactor, the air current is selectively made to flow through the heating device into either a duct to the reactor or directly as a heating-air current to the cabin via an air current control element.
