An implantable endoluminal prosthesis for use in the treatment of aneurysm involving branches is described, where at least one self-expandable braided framework extending along an axis is able to expand from a radially compressed state in a delivery configuration to a radially expanded state. The self-expandable braided framework includes a plurality of layers of wires made of biocompatible material forming a lattice with a plurality of wires of said layers; the wires being integrated in the mesh of at least one of the adjacent layers; the self-expandable braided framework including a lumen in a cylindrical form; characterized in that, in radially expanded state, a ratio of a thickness of a wall of the implantable endoluminal prosthesis in the radially expanded state to the diameter of wire being greater than 3.0; and the surface coverage ratio (SCR) of the braided framework is at least 30% and at most 50%.

Implantable endoluminal prosthesis

A multi-lumen stent assembly () for deployment in a bifurcated vessel. This assembly is made of a self-expandable main body component () and two lumen extensions (), able to be inserted into one of the lumens of a double-barrelled portion () of the main body component (). The main body component () has a proximal end () configured to be placed toward the heart and a distal end (). The main body component () has a main body portion (), a concaved portion (), and a transition portion (). The main body portion () has a cylindrical lumen () of constant diameter. The concaved portion () has a double-barrelled portion () having two lumens (). A cross-section of the transition portion () evolving from a circular shape to an elliptical shape towards the transition portion (), a larger diameter of this shape being in a central plane (CP).

Stent assembly for thoracoabdominal bifurcated aneurysm repair

An implantable permanent filter assembly () for deployment in a bifurcated vessel includes a main vessel and at least two branches. This assembly includes a filtering sleeve () formed of an expendable braided framework () able to expand from a radially compressed state in a delivery configuration to a radially expanded state. The filtering sleeve extends along an axis and defines a cylindrical lumen devoid of impermeable layer, having a distal end configured to extend toward the branches of the bifurcated vessel and a proximal end configured to extend toward away from the branches of the bifurcated vessel. The braided framework has a plurality of mesh layers () of wires () made of biocompatible material, forming a lattice with a plurality of wires of each layers. The lattice, when observed normal with respect to a wall of the implantable endoluminal prosthesis, defines polygonal openings.

Bifurcated 3D filter assembly for prevention of stroke

The present invention relates to implantable endoluminal prosthesis for preventing stroke. The endoluminal prosthesis () consists of a braided framework () defining a cylindrical lumen () devoid of impermeable membrane. Said braided framework () is self-expandable comprising a plurality of layers () of wires () made of biocompatible material. Each layer forms a mesh. The meshes form a lattice with a plurality of wires () of given layers (). The lattice defines polygonal opening units () when observed normal to a wall of the implantable endoluminal prosthesis (). The diameter (&#xd8;) of wire () being at least 30 &#x3bc;m and at most 150 &#x3bc;m, the mean diameter (&#xd8;) of the inscribed circle () of the polygonal opening units () being at least 75 &#x3bc;m and at most 200 &#x3bc;m in fully expanded state. The braided framework () consists of at least 128 and at most 512 wires (). The ratio (T/&#xd8;) of the thickness (T) of a wall of said implantable endoluminal prosthesis () to the diameter (&#xd8;) of wire () is at least 3.0. In a fully expanded state, the surface coverage ratio (SCR) of said braided framework () is more than 50% and less than 90%.

3D filter for prevention of stroke

An intraluminal apparatus for delivering a self-expanding stent which extends along a longitudinal axis from a proximal side to a distal side. It comprises in delivery configuration (a) a retracting sheath having a lumen along its longitudinal axis and slidably covering a stent receiving region at the distal end of the lumen, When the intraluminal apparatus is in a delivery configuration, the distal portion of the holding means is disposed around the proximal portion of the stent and defines an overlapping region of the holding means and the stent. The ratio L/Lof the length of the overlapping region, L, to the length of the self-expanding stent, L, in their compressed state is at least 5% and at most 30%.

Stent delivery system

A medical device with metal parts to be introduced into animal or human bodies is rendered visible during RMN imaging by covering the exterior surface of the metal parts with a layer comprising Nickel monoxide. When placed within the electromagnetic field generated by a NMR apparatus, the layer reduces disturbances induced in this field in the vicinity of the metal part. This improvement is chiefly related to endoprostheses for subjects or patients who will be submitted to NMR imaging. In particular, the invention is aimed at luminal endoprostheses comprising a metal frame, as stents.

Interventional medical device for use in MRI

A compound for injecting locally into an intratumoral space of a body made of a mixture of a biocompatible wax, admixed with biocompatible oil. The compound is liquid at a temperature above body temperature but compatible with the life of healthy cells. It exhibits an increasing viscosity with decreasing temperature and becomes a solid close to body temperature. The compound is then metabolized by the human body.

Compound for local deletion of tumors

A luminal endoprosthesis for treating aneurysms, particularly aneurysms located at an arterial bifurcation. One feature of the endoprosthesis is a tubular armature that can expand radially from a compressed state to an expanded state. A further feature of the endoprosthesis, when in the expanded state, is a lenticular head whom axis coincides with that of the tubular armature, and which can be inserted into an aneurysm pocket. A method of manufacturing such an endoprosthesis is also described.

Radio-opaque endoprosthesis An endoprosthesis furnished with an armature made of metal wires visible in X-ray medical imaging in which the armature is formed of at least two layers of wires, the wires forming the armature comprising a core made of a radio-opaque material, the interaction between the cores of the wires of the various layers improving the visibility of the said endoprosthesis in X-ray medical imaging.

Radio-opaque endoprosthesis

Luminal endoprosthesis formed of a multi-layer braided framework. The framework is devoid of any cover layer, and formed of a plurality of stabilized layers of biocompatible metal wires which are interlaced, forming a lattice, a plurality of wires of a given layer being integrated in the lattice of the adjacent layers. The mechanical characteristics of an outermost layer is so that when in place, the layer applies against a vessel wall, the other layers extending substantially along cylindrical surfaces distinct from the outermost layer so as to form a multi-layer mat which affects the haemodynamic of a flow of blood passing along or through this mat and preventing a growing of plaque.

Stent for blood flow improvement

A reversible applicator for an intraluminal endoprosthesis with a pusher, an outer sheath sliding longitudinally relative to this pusher, and an endoprosthesis arranged at it's distal part. A retention element formed by an expandable braid that widens in a bulb shape in the expanded state, integrally joined to the pusher, is arranged longitudinally inside the endoprosthesis that is to be fitted in place. This bulb compresses the proximal part of the endoprosthesis against an inner wall of the sheath in such a way as to allow the endoprosthesis to be retracted inside the sheath.

Intraluminal endoprosthesis for ramifying the ducts of a human or animal body and method of manufacture thereof

A method for manufacture of braided multifilament structures for an endoprosthesis for ramification of an anatomical conduit. The method includes the operation of braiding filaments, made of a matter chosen from among the biocompatible elastic, superelastic and shape-memory materials, around a first mandrel, along the length of the first mandrel whose diameter corresponds to a branch of a base element. The method further includes setting up at least one auxiliary mandrel parallel to the first mandrel. The auxiliary mandrel includes a first end and a second end, of cross-section corresponding to those of a lumen. The first end is inserted in a straight line with the braid in progress, upstream of the braiding point, and the assembly has a cross-section corresponding to that of a trunk of a base element. The method further includes continuing the braiding around the assembly along a length corresponding to at least that of the trunk of a base element.
