In some examples, a user equipment (UE) obtains a connectivity in a first cell, the connectivity comprising a first type of connection that provides access to services in a local data network. The UE camps on a second cell, determines if the connectivity is not supported in the second cell based on broadcast information from the second cell, the broadcast information comprising information of the second cell, and in response to determining that the connectivity is not supported in the second cell, disconnect the connectivity, wherein the disconnecting comprises sending a Non Access Stratum (NAS) message via the second cell.

Method and apparatus for releasing connection with local GW when UE moves out of the residential/enterprise network coverage

In some examples, a user equipment (UE) obtains a connectivity in a first cell, the connectivity identified by an access point name (APN), where the APN corresponds to a first type of connection, and where the first type of connection provides access to services in a local data network. The UE camps on a second cell, determines if the connectivity is not supported in the second cell based on broadcast information from the second cell, the broadcast information comprising information of the second cell, and in response to determining that the connectivity is not supported in the second cell, disconnect the connectivity, wherein the disconnecting comprises sending a Non Access Stratum (NAS) message via the second cell.

A mobility management node in A core network receives a first Non Access Stratum (NAS) message via a second network element from a user equipment (UE), wherein the mobility management node stores a first identifying characteristic associated with at least one of a Local IP Access (LIPA) packet data network (PDN) connection or a selected IP traffic offload (SIPTO) PDN connection, the at least one of the LIPA PDN connection or the SIPTO PDN connection being via a first network element and for the UE. In some examples, a method in a core network communicatively connected with a first radio access network (RAN) comprising a first network element, and a second RAN comprising a second network element, includes receiving a first Non Access Stratum (NAS) message via the second network element from a User Equipment (UE), where the UE has, with the first network element, a selected IP traffic offload (SIPTO) PDN connection. A first client node comprises content data and operates in a server peer mode to provide content data. A second client node submits a request to a P2P application server (P2P AS) for the content data. In response, the P2P AS provides the address of the first client node to the second client node. The second client node then uses the provided address to submit a request to the first client node to provide the content data. The first client node accepts the request and then provides the content data to the second client node.
