A pocketformer includes a pocketformer body having a tapered exterior surface. The exterior surface has at least one portion along a length thereof of substantially constant diameter. The pocketformer body has a feature for engaging an anchor base in a concrete structure prior to pouring concrete and a grout ring having a substantially constant inner diameter substantially equal in diameter to the at least one portion. The grout ring has an exterior surface shaped to cause retention of the grout ring in set concrete.

An anchor for a post tension reinforcement includes an anchor base having at least one wedge receiving bore therein and reinforcing ribs extending from an exterior of the receiving bore. A longitudinal length of the wedge receiving bore, a position of a midpoint of an axial length of the wedge receiving bore with respect to a load bearing basal surface of the anchor base, and a lateral extension and height of the ribs are selected such that a specific weight of the anchor base is at most 0.1 pounds per square inch of load bearing area.

Anchor for post tension concrete reinforcing systems

An anchor system for a tendon includes a load transfer device having at least one wedge receiving bore therein. The wedge receiving bore has a tapered interior surface. The anchor system also includes a wedge configured to be affixed to an exterior surface of a tendon. The wedge has a tapered exterior surface configured to cooperate with the tapered interior surface of the wedge receiving bore to laterally compress the wedge against a tendon when the wedge is moved longitudinally into the bore. Taper angle of the wedge and a taper angle of the wedge receiving bore are selected such that longitudinal compressive force exerted by the wedge is substantially evenly longitudinally distributed.

An anchor for a post tension reinforcement is disclosed. The anchor includes an anchor base having at least one wedge receiving bore therein. The wedge receiving bore is tapered in diameter at a single selected taper angle. An axial length of the wedge receiving bore is selected so that a minimum internal diameter of the wedge receiving bore is at least as large as an external diameter of a sheath on a reinforcing tendon. In another aspect, the wedge receiving bore is positioned in the anchor so that its longitudinal center is approximately collocated with a load bearing basal surface of the anchor.

A wedge for a tendon retaining anchor includes at least two circumferential wedge segments adapted to be placed on an exterior of a tendon. The wedge segments have an exterior surface adapted to cooperate with a receiving bore of a load transfer device and an interior surface having gripping elements thereon. A circumferential dimension of the wedge segments is selected so that a total uncompressed gap between circumferential ends of the wedge segments when the segments are applied to an exterior surface of the tendon is at most about 2.4 times a height of the gripping elements. In another aspect, a tendon retaining system includes an anchor having a wedge receiving bore and wedge segments adapted to cooperate with the wedge receiving bore. The wedge segments include gripping elements on an interior surface thereof. The system includes a device adapted to limit lateral compression of the wedge segments.

Anchor wedge configuration for tendon anchors

A wedge for an anchor system is disclosed. One embodiment of the wedge includes at least two circumferential wedge segments. Each segment defines an exterior tapered surface and an interior surface. The interior surface has gripping elements thereon. The gripping elements define a difference between a major diameter and a minor diameter of about 0.25 to 0.75 of an amount of a difference defined by a conventional thread having substantially a same axial spacing and major diameter as the gripping elements on the interior surface. Another embodiment of the wedge has an interior surface shaped to substantially conform to an exterior surface of a tendon.

Anchor wedge for post tension anchor system and anchor system made therewith

An anchor for engagement with a post-tension tendon includes an anchor base having a generally tapered wedge receiving bore. A sheath surrounds the anchor base. The sheath has a substantially cylindrical extension on one side of the anchor base for contacting the tendon at a distal end thereof from the anchor base. The extension is formed integrally with the sheath and has a seal disposed therein proximate the distal end. A cap having external threads thereon is for engaging corresponding internal mating threads on the sheath on a side of the anchor base opposite to the sheath extension. The cap has a tool engagement surface thereon to facilitate rotation by a tool for engagement with the sheath.

Post-tension anchor seal cap

An apparatus and method for reducing corrosion in post-tension construction is described. An anchor is engagable with a post-tension tendon and comprises an anchor base and sheath engaged with the anchor base, and a cap for sealing the portion of the tendon within the anchor. The sheath can include an extension having a contact end distal from the anchor base for contacting the tendon as the tendon is inserted through the extension and the anchor base aperture. The cap can extend completely through the anchor base for connection to the anchor base of a sheath or sheath extension attached to the base. A pocketformer is attachable to the sheath for generating a void in concrete.

Pocket former for post-tension anchor

An apparatus and method for reducing corrosion in post-tension construction is described. An anchor base having an aperture with at two continuously opening surfaces is used with a post-tension tendon. A sheath surrounds the anchor and includes a cylindrical extension having a contact end distal from the anchor base for contacting the tendon as the tendon is inserted through the cylindrical extension and the anchor base aperture. The method positions an anchor base in a selected location so that a tendon end can be inserted into the anchor base to engaged the contact end distal from the anchor base. The tendon is threaded through the anchor base until a selected length extends through the base. The tendon is tensioned, a segment of the tendon sleeve is removed proximate to the anchor base, and a wedge is anchored between the tendon and the anchor base.

Integrated post-tension anchor

A mono-strand tendon for unbonded post-tension construction. A mono-strand wire tendon having interstices between the individual wires is formed with a corrosion resistant material between the tendon interstices. A first sheath is positioned around the tendon exterior surface, and corrosion resistant material is positioned between the tendon exterior surface and the first sheath. A second sheath can be positioned around the first sheath, and a lubricant or corrosion resistant material can be placed between the first and second sheaths. The corrosion resistant material can be positioned within the interstices of the mono-strand tendon by displacing one or more of the wire strands away from the other wire strands to open up the interstices. Corrosion resistant material can be placed on the wire strands, and the displaced wire strand can be released to reform the exterior surface of the tendon and to compact the corrosion resistant material within the interstices.
