A connection switch jack has first and second sets of pins, and a set of spring contacts for connecting the first and second sets of pins when the spring contacts are in a normally closed position. The jack has a receptacle for receiving a plug having a plurality of plug contacts, wherein receipt of the plug connects corresponding plug contacts to selected pins of the first set of pins via the spring contacts and then moves the switch off of the normally closed position to break the contact between the first and second sets of pins.

A coaxial jack with an internal switch mechanism and a shielded signal conductor includes a cylindrical shell having an axial opening, and an elongate signal conductor supported coaxially inside the shell, and surrounded by a shield that includes an access window positioned so that a portion of the signal conductor is accessible. A back end of an elongate resilient switch contact is fixed by a switch contact support at a back portion of the shell on one side of the shell axis. The switch contact extends inside the shell toward the front opening at a certain inclination and has a free end located on a side of the shell axis opposite the one side. The switch contact is configured and positioned to make an electrical connection with the signal conductor, via the access window in the shield, in the absence of a mating plug. An elongate actuator is supported on the inner periphery of the shell and has an engaging part that protrudes into a defined plug travel path inside the shell. The engaging part is configured to cause the free end of the switch contact to deflect by an amount sufficient to break the electrical connection between the contact and the center conductor when a mating plug travels into the shell and displaces the engaging part of the actuator.

A power module for mounting in an array of electrical equipment which may have differing sizes, although within any given panel the equipment is all of the same size. The power module contains common circuitry mounted within a housing. Mounting brackets of varying size are secured to the housing to adapt the module for different sized panels.

An improved interconnect and cross-connect equipment panel for telecommunications apparatus holds jack panel modules (20) with connections to their rear and connector modules (20) with interconnected front and rear connectors. Patch cords (52) are utilized at the rear of the panel to interconnect a jack panel module with a connector module so that telecommunications apparatus connected to the rear of a jack panel module is accessible from the front of a connector module.

A right angle adaptor for a straight coaxial jack having a jack body (10) and at least one jack terminal (48) extending axially from a base of the jack body. The adaptor includes an adaptor board having at least one jack terminal opening for receiving a jack terminal that extends axially from a base of a coaxial jack body. The adaptor board (200) has at least one adaptor terminal (48) mount, and a conductive path that electrically connects the adaptor terminal mount to a corresponding jack terminal opening in the adaptor board. At least one adaptor terminal has one end part electrically connected to an adaptor terminal mount on the adaptor board, and an opposite end part of the adaptor terminal extends substantially parallel to the adaptor board for connection with an outside board.
