The present invention is an adjustment mechanism to move the seed firming wheels into its correct side-to-side position. The seed firming wheels are rotatably mounted to a bracket which in turn is mounted to a wheel support member of the planter unit frame. The bracket is provided with two radiused bushings which cooperate with radiused surfaces in the side walls of the wheel support member. The side walls and the wheel support member are provided with fore/aft extending slots through which adjustment bolts pass through the bracket and sidewalls of the wheel support member for clamping the bracket to the wheel support member.

Closing wheels adjustment mechanism

The present invention is a seed tube guide for maintaining the seed tube in the center of the seed planting furrow between the double disc openers. The seed tube guide comprises a unitary member having left and right forwardly extending mounting plates for engaging a seed tube guard. Each of the mounting plates has a notch for receiving the transversely extending ridge of the seed tube guard. Extending rearwardly are left and right guide members for gripping the seed tube and centering it in the seed planting furrow.

Seed tube guide

A hollow seed tube extending between a seed meter and a planting furrow is provided with a sensor aperture for receiving a seed sensor. The interior surface of the seed tube above the sensor aperture is provided with a ramp for directing the seed inwardly away from the sensor.
