Data presented in a visual image is monitored and verified. A processing component receives data from sensors and other sources, and interprets the data to generate processed data. A render component generates a visual image based on the processed data. A projector component projects the image, which is received by a splitter component that splits the light stream of the image and routes a portion of light energy to the display screen viewed by the user and another portion of the light energy to a data verification component (DVC). DVC interprets information presented in the image to determine the data being presented to the user by the image. DVC also receives the processed data from the processing component. DVC compares the data determined from the image to the processed data to determine whether they match and takes appropriate responsive action if they do not match.

Monitoring and confirming information in an image

A method of monitoring a cockpit of an aircraft includes receiving, by one or more controllers, an image depicting an operator manipulated input device located within the cockpit. The method can include determining, by the one or more controllers, an observed state of the operator manipulated input device. In particular, the observed state can be based on the image. The method can include determining, by the one or more controllers, a sensed state of the operator manipulated input device. In particular, the sensed state can be based on data from a sensor. The method can include determining, by the one or more controllers, a mismatch between the observed and sensed states of the operator manipulated input device.

System and method for monitoring a cockpit of an aircraft

Systems and methods of providing cellular communication between an aircraft and infrastructure of ground communication nodes are provided. In one example, an avionics communication system located on an aircraft for providing cellular communication between the aircraft and an infrastructure of ground communication nodes includes a directional antenna, one or more processors and memory devices, as well as one or more radio transmitter/receivers. The radio transmitter/receiver can transmit and receive cellular communication signals along multiple communication paths established between the aircraft and one or more identified ground communication nodes using the directional antenna. Signal relay also can be implemented based in part on a determined signal power level, determined frequency shift compensation value for modifying communicated signals to account for expected Doppler effects and/or determined antenna beam steering commands.

Systems and methods for controlling an aerial vehicle are provided. The method includes receiving a first signal from a first input device, wherein the first signal is related to a mode of a flight director. The method includes outputting a parameter on an output device, wherein the parameter is related to the mode. The method includes receiving a second signal from a second input device, wherein the second signal causes the parameter to change to a new parameter. The method includes outputting, by the one or more processors, the new parameter on the output device. The method includes receiving, by the one or more processors, a third signal from a third input device, wherein the aerial vehicle is controlled by the flight director based on the third signal, and wherein the second input device is mechanically coupled to the first input device and the third input device.
