The window glass for a vehicle door is mounted at its lower edge in an elongated sash. The glass is raised and lowered by a regulator attached to the sash. A pair of guides (pulleys or slides) are fixed to each end of the sash and a cable, anchored to the door at points at the top and bottom of sash movement, extends parallel to the direction of window movement from the anchors to the sash and around the guides such that any up or down movement of either end of the sash is transferred to the other end so that both ends move together, thereby preventing tilting of the glass.

A sunshade support assembly includes a molded plastic support having an extension provided with a tapered external surface and a cylindrical bore. A series of slots in the extension provide radially displaceable clamping portions. A sleeve having a tapered internal surface is axially force fitted over the tapered exterior surface of the extension to set the frictional clamping force between the extensions and a leg of a sunshade support arm rotatably received in the cylindrical bore of the extension. The support arm is L-shaped and has a molded plastic elbow bearing against the support.

Sunshade support assembly

A vehicle tailgate of the type which is hinged along a bottom edge for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis. Specifically, the invention concerns a torque rod type counterbalancing spring for the tailgate which exerts both an outward opening bias on the tailgate and a lifting or closing force on the tailgate opposing opening movement so as to counterbalance gravitational forces thereon. The torque rod is mounted and connected so that the rod is continuously stressed in a torsional manner in only one direction from opening to closing, there being no null point where there is a reversal of stress on the torque rod.
