A system for a retail environment supporting product available to a consumer. The system includes one or more applications including a portal in electronic communication with a consumer device via a network and accessible by a consumer to input consumer preferences specific the consumer into the one or more applications. The consumer preferences include identification information and purchase preferences associated with products in the retail environment. A wireless connection is positioned in or adjacent the retail environment to automatically detect presence of a consumer device at the retail environment. The one or more applications communicates with the consumer regarding information about a first product preference in response to the consumer device being identified in the retail environment, and automatically identifies a product in the retail environment unique to the consumer and directly related to the first product preference, and ii) a location of the product in the retail environment.

Food display system integrating retailer services with consumer engagement

An equipment monitoring system for a merchandiser. The system includes a control system that defines a data acquisition node, a server that is in remote communication with the control system via a network providing a communication bridge between the data acquisition node and the server, and that includes a database and one or more applications having executable processing instructions, and equipment monitoring sensors that are coupled to one or more components of the merchandiser to obtain status data regarding the status of the one or more components. The equipment monitoring sensors are in communication with the data acquisition node to communicate the status data to the server. The application(s) execute processing instructions that conduct program analysis for the one or more components using the status data based on information associated with the merchandiser to determine a predictive component failure associated with the one or more components.

A refrigeration system includes a primary refrigeration circuit configured to circulate a COprimary refrigerant and a secondary refrigeration circuit separate from the primary refrigeration circuit. The primary refrigeration circuit includes a compressor assembly, a condenser assembly, a receiver, and one or more refrigeration loads having an evaporator assembly. The secondary refrigeration circuit includes a thermal storage unit and a heat exchanger. The thermal storage unit contains a phase change material. The secondary refrigeration circuit is in thermal communication with the primary refrigeration circuit through the heat exchanger. The primary refrigerant includes a critical temperature. The primary refrigeration circuit is configured for subcritical operation. The primary refrigeration circuit and the secondary refrigeration circuit are configured such that the phase change material provides cooling to the primary refrigerant during a first operating condition. The phase change material is configured to maintain subcritical operation of the primary refrigeration circuit during the first operating condition when the primary refrigerant is above the critical temperature.

A system to determine operation and maintenance monitoring, equipment optimization and life cycle management, inventory and supply chain management, and shopper engagement includes a product display having a control system in communication with an inventory sensor and an equipment monitoring sensor, and a server in remote communication with the control system, the server containing a database and at least one application. The control system receives data from the inventory sensor and the equipment monitoring sensor, and communicates the data to the server for storage in the database, and the at least one application accesses and analyzes the data stored in the database.

A modular refrigeration system includes a refrigeration loop having a compressor, a condenser, an expansion assembly, and a chiller interconnected by a first piping loop cycling hydrocarbon refrigerant. A high side cooling loop includes a first heat exchanger and a first pump interconnected with the condenser by a second piping loop cycling a cooling fluid, the cooling fluid exchanges heat with the hydrocarbon refrigerant at the condenser. A low side cooling loop includes a second heat exchanger and a second pump interconnected with the chiller by a third piping loop cycling a chilled fluid, the chilled fluid exchanges heat with the hydrocarbon refrigerant at the chiller. A space supports the second heat exchanger and is configured to be maintained within a predetermined temperature range, wherein the total charge of hydrocarbon refrigerant associated with the space does not exceed 150 grams.

A refrigeration system including a plurality of circuits that have one or more heat exchangers providing heat exchange relationship relative to one or more of the other circuits. At least one of the circuits circulates a hydrocarbon refrigerant and includes a chiller unit or a merchandiser that has an evaporator.

Low charge hydrocarbon refrigeration system

A commercial refrigeration system has a control system which distributes intelligence to increase granularity of the control and simplify wiring, assembly and installation. Compressors of the refrigeration system each have a bus compatible compressor safety and control module including a processor and sensors. All control and safety modules communicate over a single power and communications line with the controller, providing digital transmissions to the controller of measurements taken by the sensors. The information provided may include that the compressor is outside of a specific safety parameter, so that the controller knows not only that a safety parameter has been traversed, but exactly which one. The control and safety modules are capable of executing commands from the controller to cycle the compressors. The control and safety modules preferably contain sufficient intelligence to continue system operation upon failure of the controller. A compressor is also disclosed which has an intelligent control and safety module. The compressor also houses control and safety devices within a hermetically or semi-hermetically sealed shell. A condenser controller is also disclosed that is capable of communicating with the controller to affect intelligent control of one or more compressor fans.

Distributed intelligence control for commercial refrigeration

A refrigeration system including a compressor, condenser, valve, and refrigeration branch, all of which is in fluid communication. The refrigeration branch includes an evaporator coil. The refrigeration system further includes a case adapted to be cooled by the evaporator coil, and a system controller operable to control one or more aspects of the refrigeration system, and a subsystem controller in communication with the system controller. The subsystem controller is operable to control a subsystem having one of the compressor, condenser, valve, refrigeration branch, and case. The method of operating the refrigeration system includes at the subsystem controller, monitoring a parameter of the subsystem, comparing the monitored parameter with a parameter limit, generating an alarm when the parameter is not within the parameter limit, and communicating the alarm to the system controller.

Refrigeration system and method of operating the same

A refrigeration system including an evaporator, a suction header in fluid communication with the evaporator, a compressor in fluid communication with the suction header, and a condenser in fluid communication with the compressor and the evaporator. The subsystem controller being operable to monitor at least one parameter of a subsystem having at least one of the compressor, condenser, valve, and fixture, and being further operable to execute a command from the system controller to affect the operation of the subsystem.

A refrigeration system including a compressor, condenser, valve, and evaporator in fluid communication; a system controller operable to control one or more aspects of the refrigeration system, and a subsystem controller in communication with the system controller. The subsystem controller is operable to control one of the compressor, condenser, valve, and evaporator. A method of operating the refrigeration system includes communicating a code from the subsystem controller to the system controller, obtaining information at the system controller having a relation to the code; and communicating at least a portion of the obtained information from the system controller to the subsystem controller.

Refrigeration system and method of configuring the same

A condenser assembly adapted to condense an evaporated refrigerant for use in a retail store refrigeration system. The condenser assembly includes at least one microchannel condenser coil including an inlet manifold and an outlet manifold. The inlet manifold includes an inlet port for receiving the refrigerant, and the outlet manifold includes an outlet port for discharging the refrigerant. The condenser assembly also includes a frame supporting the at least one microchannel condenser coil.
