A vertically moving pet bowl apparatus has a vertical tower having a first support column and a second support column. A movable tray may be secured to and located between the first and second support column. The movable tray has a plurality of openings for receiving at least one pet food bowl and/or a water bowl. The movable tray moves vertically between the first and the second support columns so that a user can access the movable tray in the up position and then lower the movable tray to the lower position wherein the pet may gain access. The apparatus allows the user to avoid bending down to provide food/water to the pet and instead allows a user to deliver food and water to the pet from an upright standing position. A top console controls the movement of the movable tray in the up and down position.

A drill bit storage box with an integral gauge is provided. The storage box has a hinged top surface, a bottom, slanted sides and an interior. The top surface has a plurality of various sized openings for receiving drill bits, with each opening corresponding to a specific size drill bit. The interior of the storage box has a plurality of holding bins located beneath the plurality of openings of the top surface. When a drill bit is placed through the opening which corresponds to the exact diameter of the drill bit on the top surface and the drill bit is released, the drill bit falls into the correct corresponding holding bin within the interior of the storage box. In this manner, a random number of drill bits may be sized and stored for future use.

A housing, has a substantially horizontal top, provided with an opening therein for receiving a stack of flat cards, and a slot, for accommodating tickets, at said top of said housing spaced from said openings. Within the housing is a U-shaped pathway having a central axis, the central axis of the pathway being linear through a first, vertical portion thereof adjacent to the opening, an elongated cartridge, for accommodating said stack of flat cards, disposed within the first, vertical portion of the pathway. The cartridge has a slot on one sidewall, adjacent the bottom of said cartridge, for permitting the lowest card in the stack at a given time to be expelled.

A card reader system for reading a fare card containing data, the card being adapted for insertion into the reader; the operation is such that the card is held in a fixed position while it is being read and while other operations such as erase, write, and the like are being performed. The reader assembly is moved past the card to read the data and perform the other operations and the data representative of the amount of fare already paid is stored and a balance due or remaining is calculated and is written on the card. Preferably, the card has a magnetic stripe carrying the data, and the reader includes a magnetic head, as well as an optional thermal (marking) head. Solenoids are used to clamp in the fixed position and to eject the card after clamping is released.

A multiple bill escrow and storage apparatus provides in combination: a validator unit for validating paper money bills which has an outlet through which each accepted bill is ejected; a receiver of bills from the validator unit; a conveyor disposed near the receiver, the conveyor being capable of moving a bill from the validator unit to a handling station; an escrow box disposed adjacent the handling station, the escrow box having a retaining device for holding multiple bills therein; a transfer device mounted at the handling station for transferring a bill from the conveyor into the escrow box, the transfer device comprising a pusher reciprocally movably mounted opposite the escrow box; a vault mounted adjacent the escrow box; an actuating device coupled to the transfer device for selectively transferring a bill into the escrow box and from the escrow box into the vault, the actuating device being capable of driving the pusher through the conveyor to push the bill from the conveyor into the escrow box; a mechanism for reciprocally moving the escrow box between the handling station and an ejection station; and an ejecting device disposed at the ejection station for ejecting the bills contained in the escrow box wherein the ejected bill are ejected in a folded state.

Coins that are overlapped in a coin identification device are separated by opposed frictional surfaces driven in opposite directions. A primary frictional surface may be on a downwardly traveling belt and a secondary frictional surface may be as upwardly traveling roller surface. Coins which are engaged edge-to-edge may be separated by a deflector which retards the descent of one coin to separate it vertically from the other coin. The roller is mounted on a pivotal plate which moves to increase the space between frictional surfaces to alleviate jamming.
